Katie is one of our skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistants here at Family Medical Care. With over 8 years of hands-on experience in the role — and more than 28 years of dedication to the medical field — she brings a wealth of knowledge, teamwork, and heart to every patient interaction. She works closely with Grace, our Physician Assistant, to support patient care and ensure smooth day-to-day clinic operations. Katie’s career has been built on compassion, collaboration, and a strong work ethic, making her a trusted and valued member of our FMC family.

When asked what drives her in her work, Katie shared how much she values being part of a team that prioritizes quality care and patient well-being. Whether she’s assisting in the clinic or helping operations run seamlessly, she approaches every task with energy, care, and commitment.

Laura is one of our dedicated and experienced Clinical Medical Assistants here at Family Medical Care. With an impressive 13 years as part of the FMC team, Laura brings skill, compassion, and a patient-focused approach to every interaction.

When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Laura shared:
➡️ “Patient care — especially since the MDVIP program started in 2023. Having a small patient-focused group to get to know and help has been the best part of the 13 years at FMC.”

📓 Education & Career Journey
Laura earned her BS from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and holds a Medical Assistant Certification from DuBois Business College. Before joining FMC, she spent 17 years as a Child Care Director, developing strong leadership, organization, and people skills that she now uses every day in patient care.

🌿 Personal Life & Interests
Outside of work, Laura loves baking and cooking for family and friends, listening to Christian music (with Matthew West as her favorite artist), and traveling with her loved ones. She enjoys ice cream — but only the good-quality kind — as refined sugar can trigger inflammatory pain. Her favorite pastime is spending time with her children, helping friends, and experimenting with living in a healthy way.

Laura’s kindness, dedication, and passion for building strong patient relationships make her a truly valued member of our FMC family. We are so grateful for her 13 years of service and the heart she brings to our team every day. 💛

🌟 Meet Kristen Walker! 🌟

Kristen has been with Family Medical Care for almost 2 years, serving in multiple capacities to help ensure patients receive the best care possible. Kristen is a Health Navigator and Quality Care Assistant here at FMC. She focuses on solving patient care challenges, supporting providers and coworkers, and partnering with Candy to bridge gaps for quality outcomes. As Executive Director of The Good Samaritan Fund, Kristen is passionate about expanding its reach to make an even greater impact in our community.

When asked what she loves most about her work, Kristen shared:
➡️ “I’m grateful to serve God through my work and contribute wherever I’m needed. I love getting to know people’s stories and finding ways we can help.”

Kristen is a graduate of Geneva College, where she studied Human Services. Over the past decade, she has served in diverse areas of human services—from behavioral health and corrections to case management and medical care.

🌸 Personal Life & Interests 🌸
Nothing beats country living for Kristen — whether she’s riding trails on her side-by-side, fishing with her fiancé, four-wheeling with her nephew, or enjoying porch-sitting and fireside conversations. She loves watching softball and basketball, spending time with loved ones, and embracing the slower pace of life. Kristen is an active member of Edgewood Church, which plays a meaningful role in her walk with God. And if you ask her favorite treat? It’s peanut butter ice cream every time!

Amy is one of our compassionate and dedicated Patient Service Representatives here at Family Medical Care. With over 40 years of experience in healthcare, Amy brings a wealth of knowledge, empathy, and a deeply personal touch to her work every day. She’s been part of the FMC team for nearly 2 years, and her commitment to our mission is evident in everything she does.

When asked what she loves most about her role, Amy shared:
➡️ “I love working with each patient and family member to provide compassion and empathy in a Christ-like manner. I personally know how comforting it is to have someone who understands and can make each situation less stressful. Even if it’s just a smile or listening ear — I strive to help however I can.”

Amy also shared how much she enjoys gathering the information our providers need to deliver excellent care — all while contributing to the unified vision that Dr. Gardner has for the practice. She describes the environment at FMC as “very unique” — and her heart for others truly helps make it that way.

📓 Education & Career Journey
A graduate of Wilmington Area High School, Amy holds both a CNA license and Med Tech license. Before joining FMC, she dedicated over 39 years to Shenango Presbyterian Seniorcare, where she served in a variety of roles including CNA, Clinical Secretary, Admissions/Discharge Coordinator, Medical Records/Coding, and Scheduling.

🌿 Personal Life & Interests
Outside of work, Amy is a proud Christian and active member of New Life Baptist Church, where she leads a small group Bible study on Wednesday nights and volunteers at the Bread Basket Food Pantry in New Castle each month. She loves supporting her nieces and nephews in their activities, cheering on the Steelers, Penguins, Pirates, and Penn State, and spending time in nature — appreciating what she describes as “God’s beautiful masterpiece.” Amy treasures quality time with her close friends and family, who she says are her heart and biggest blessing. 💛

🌟 Meet Our Seasonal Summer Staff: Mariah, Aidan, Annalee & Abby Gardner! 🌟

This summer, Family Medical Care has been blessed with the energy, heart, and dedication of a talented group of young adults — all part of the extended Gardner family! From front desk operations to clinical support and creative content, each of them has played an important role in serving our patients and supporting our team.

👩‍💼 Mariah Gardner
Mariah is a graduate of Cedarville University and currently serves as a Patient Service Representative at our front desk. With a warm presence and a heart for others, Mariah helps greet patients and ensures smooth check-in experiences. She’ll be with us until September. Outside the office, Mariah is a Run Club Leader with Run with Christ in Pittsburgh, where she combines her love of fitness and faith to build community and encourage others.

🧑‍💻 Aidan Gardner
Aidan has worked at the front desk helping check patients out and supporting patient services over the phone. Whether assisting with appointments or offering friendly service, Aidan's helpfulness shines through. He’s beginning his freshman year at Liberty University this August. When he’s not at work or school, you can find him in the gym lifting weights or out fishing!

🔬 Annalee Gardner
Annalee has worked closely with our clinical team as both a Clinical Float and Medical Assistant, supporting Dr. Gardner and other providers. She’s a rising junior at Liberty University, majoring in Biology on a pre-med track. Annalee’s professionalism and patient-centered approach make her a standout member of the team, and we know she’s headed for great things in healthcare!

Abby, a cousin to the Gardner siblings, has taken on a variety of roles this summer as both a clerical and clinical float. From answering phones and rooming patients to managing medical records and refining office forms, Abby has been a huge asset behind the scenes. She’s also our go-to for FMC social media and photography. Abby is entering her sophomore year at John Carroll University.

Cindy has been part of the Family Medical Care family for over 22 years, and currently serves as our Clinical Supervisor. As an RN, she not only provides expert nursing care but also oversees the entire clinical team—helping ensure that operations run smoothly and patients receive the highest level of attention and compassion.

When asked what she loves most about her role, Cindy shared:
➡️ “I enjoy patient interaction and getting to know not only the patients, but their families, and caring for them as a whole. I also enjoy working with our providers and all of our office team.”
Her warmth, leadership, and dedication have earned her deep respect from coworkers and patients alike.

Cindy received her nursing education from the Robert Packer Hospital School of Nursing, where she built the strong clinical foundation that’s guided her long and successful career.
