MY BIO SUMMARY

My spiritual path has been long, officially spanning 5 decades (unofficially, more than that), & is quite eclectic with what some may view as a hodgepodge of unrelated themes. Even as a child, raised in a very Catholic household, I was a mystic with precognitive visions who attracted the extraordinary. When I learned of an esoteric school opening its doors in the early 1970’s, I immediately enrolled. The Inner Vision School of Occult & Psychic Sciences, located in Manhattan, was a wonderful place to get the basics in various divination systems & all things metaphysical. The school also answered some questions for me about my own experiences. After a few years I moved on to deepen my studies at The Occult Guild with Rev. Charles House. We were a small, private group, meeting weekly for several years at the Ansonia Hotel in NYC. House was a student of the late but renowned spiritualist medium, Clifford Bias whose church had also been in the Ansonia. Under the direction of Charles House, we explored the greater meaning of the Hermetic Arts like tarot & astrology, of practices like meditation, chant, ceremonial magick, & ritual, & the timeless truth of the Hermetic Principles. Simultaneously, I studied Ancient Esoteric Philosophy at The New School & received my astrologer certification from the H Eugene Adams School of Astrology in Forest Hills, NY. At the New School I met Jon Mundy, PhD, who introduced me to A Course in Miracles & I became a lifelong student/teacher, going on to facilitate, for several years in the 1990’s, a weekly Course based peer support group for women at the Interfaith Center in Washingtonville, NY. I was also blessed to present workshops at an ACIM annual conference in Bethel, Maine for 5 years in a row, as well as directing a choir & co-producing a Sunday morning service with some beloved brothers & sisters whom I have held in my heart ever since as my core ACIM family. In the same period, my work with chant brought me to record “Lovecalls,” a little a cappella cassette of my original work which in turn brought me an invitation to record a CD, “Lullabies of the Soul,” with a delightful group of sister-souls in Hartford CT. Improvisational heart songs & the vibration of sound has long been a part of my soul’s healing journey. When I moved to Orange County in 1979, I did readings & offered small classes in my home - through the 1980’s - in tarot, astrology, meditation, chant, ritual & sacred ceremony, among other subjects. I had learned psychic/spiritual healing methods at Inner Vision, & made much use of those skills in my travels through pediatric cancer in the same decade, but had a big issue with empathic absorption. I longed to learn Usui Reiki, intuitively sensing that it would help with the empath problem. Back in those days, however, the fees to reach Reiki Master were way out of my financial reach, but I held fast to the vision that one day I would learn. In the late 90’s, I was invited to attend meditation & ritual with a local group of women. After one of the circles, the woman who led the group reached for my hand & said, “You have strong Reiki.” I told her I had never learned. She said I was a natural healer but was having empathic absorption issues that attunement to Reiki would fix. She was so very right. She offered to instruct & attune me & in exchange I assisted her with a personal project. My career as a Reiki Practitioner was soon launched. In early 2000, I became a Reiki Master/Teacher. Reiki did indeed clear my empathic absorption & is a precious gift beyond measure. I am also a writer & poet whose work has been published in various magazines & newsletters spanning back to 1977. More recently, I became a certified aromatherapist, a doTERRA certified essential oil specialist, as well as an essential oil educator at HigherVibeHealth. I have incorporated the use of essential oils into my Reiki practice, along with my standard crystals, solfeggio frequencies & tuning forks. There is really too much life to include all of it in this blurb, but these are some of the highlights on my spiritual road to here. Many Blessings! Thérèse Marie Quinn

NEW MOON IN 28 SCORPIO 12’
November 20, 2025 @ 1:47 AM EST

This is surely the most powerful & important New Moon of the year as it aspects both the social planets & all the outer, transpersonal planets: it sits opposite Uranus, sextiles Pluto (who rules the Scorpio Moon & Sun & is still out of bounds & unpredictable in what it resurrects for full viewing from our Shadow) trines Jupiter, Saturn & Neptune. These aspects point to very pervasive themes of change, transformation & sudden revelations from the deep, collective & social unconscious mind. But all this energy also is filtered into the personal through the conjunction of retrograde Mercury to Sun/Moon at 28 Scorpio. Mercury is at the midpoint of his backward trajectory where he disappears from our view into the heart of the Sun, traverses the underworld of consciousness & comes back into view with hidden information to help us better move forward. The direct contact with our Divine Messenger Mercury channels the abstract possibilities indicated by the conversation of the impersonal planets into information available for use by our individual, personal minds. Minds open, perceptions shift & the hidden shadows clarify in the inner radiance of the joined Lights. Nothing is the same after that as we begin to truly hear & respond to the Scorpionic call to release & rebirth. The information rising to the surface leaves us no other evolutionary choice.

This is a lunation of deep introspection to review & re-evaluate our current psychological patterns & shadow-propelled behaviors. It is a time to resurrect courage & face the hidden parts of our psyche that have been too long suppressed & ignored. Opening a line of communication there is the first step to understanding what’s irrelevant & needs releasing & what is a find of pure gold in our reach for a better future especially where or how we share resources. Themes like transforming our shared financial resources with partners, bank loans, credit cards, & taxes are an example. But also highlighted is how we manage shared intimacy in a healthy way or not, depending on our balance of giving & taking. We are asked to re-visit some very uncomfortable places we have exiled to our psyche’s darkest corners. Intense, to say the least, summarizes the passage through this influence, but if accomplished, a bright fresh start is ours for the claiming. By the Scorpio Full Moon in May 2026, the changes we’ve moved through will seem unbelievable.

Any New Moon in Scorpio brings an opportunity to develop, & more willfully listen to, our intuition & psychic senses. Don’t ignore any strong hits there. Pay faithful attention to the still small voice of your Soul. It is the best way to plant our feet on the path to a new beginning. There is no more favorable moment to change our minds about something. There is no more favorable moment to let go of whatever has been unconsciously weighing us down. It’s time to rise up as The Pheonix emerges from the ashes of the old paradigm, & illuminates the way to a bright New World, personally & collectively.

Let’s do this! But remember, it is not done by seeking outside ourselves for answers. The only truly useful answers come from within. What is essential for us now is invisible to the physical eye. Change on the outside extends from changes made on the inside. So, may we cozy up to ourselves & let the invisible wisdom guide our next steps. Scorpio never promises us a rose garden: We have to navigate a lot of thorns first.

May we release our limiting beliefs & the self-defeating stories we holdfast about ourselves, heal our deepest wounds, & reclaim our immense, creative power for constructive use. We have nothing to fear but our own imagined littleness, and we have everything to gain by embracing our divine enormity.

CRYSTALS & GEMS FOR SCORPIO SEASON

Yellow, Golden or Imperial Topaz is the birthstone for Scorpio yet so many posts do not include this beautiful, sunny gem in their lists of Scorpio stones. Topaz supports self-confidence & inserts joy into Scorpio's intensity. It can be substituted with Citrine, but the light of Topaz penetrates even the darkest depths of the shadow world where Citrine may not be comfortable. As with the Topaz, Citrine also attracts Financial Stability & Growth. Scorpio is certainly a sign that isn't put off by deep dives into Pluto's realms & Topaz is a good companion to take into the unconscious places it explores.

Malachite or Green Aventurine helps Scorpio give & receive Love. Rose quartz & rhodonite can help with the same. Amethyst, Charoite or Lepidolite all calm Scorpio's cresting emotions & heals the debilitating, extreme obsessions of its churning desires.

Obsidian is a protective stone. It blocks, absorbs & transforms negative or harmful energy. Smoky Quartz does the same. These stones bring clarity, & strengthen the ability to release suppressed emotions as well as physical & spiritual blocks. With blocks removed, clarity can emerge to keep Scorpio focused on their unfolding strategies and contributes greatly to manifest the Scorpio desire to succeed in their endeavors. And obsidian clears the path for all the fun rising as Sagittarius Season moves in for our holiday celebrations. 🌞♏️

WHERE'S YOUR SCORPIO?

I have no planets in Scorpio but I do have my midheaven (10th house cusp) there. So even if you are like me & have no planets in Scorpio, maybe take a look at which house Scorpio sits in. Scorpio shows its influence somewhere in every birth chart as do all the other 11 zodiac signs. Scorpio on the midheaven also suggests public profiles which require wearing a uniform. I definitely wore uniforms for a very large part of my life, but my psychic/healing work has always been my passion and filtered through my work with the public at the Post Office window. That's the only way I could have worn that uniform to pay my bills for 30 years. Wherever Scorpio resides in your chart or whichever of your natal planets is colored by living there, just know that area of life requires deep dives. 🌞♏️

Oh it's that pesky Mercury Retrograde time again! And this retro cycle is on steroids! You know the drill by now, but let me add: 'check your vehicle's tires, fluids, brake pads etc...and drive defensively because distractions on the road abound. Review, renew, refresh, re-evaluate, re-schedule & re-invent! It'll be over before you know it, but not before Thanksgiving, so maybe play it safe & sane by re-doing your holiday plans if they involve too much traveling. 😉🍗🦃

FULL SUPERMOON IN 13 TA**US 22
November 5, 2025 @ 8:20 AM EST

This is the second of the three supermoons of 2025, as well as the biggest, brightest & closest to Earth. It amplifies & intensifies the power of the full moon to manifest our desires & release whatever dead weight has been chaining us to beliefs, values & strivings no longer relevant to grounding our growth.

I love what Jill Wintersteen has to say:
“The upcoming full Moon in Ta**us is a cosmic invitation to come home to yourself. In a world that constantly pushes you to move faster, achieve more, and look outside yourself for validation, this full Moon takes your hand and leads you back to what truly matters—the simple yet sacred act of being present in your life.”

The Moon is exalted in the sign of Ta**us & ruled by Lady Venus (currently at home & empowered in the late degrees of her other sign, Libra), calling us to see & steep in the beauty & value of the present moment. Ta**us Moon is in no rush to fling itself into a future of reaching for bigger & so-called better ‘stuff,’ accumulated possessions, achievements, accomplishments or accolades. Being here right now is enough because that’s where our values are most clearly apparent, where our worth is unveiled, where our resources are available for stable embodiment. In Ta**us, the beauty of who we are, what we prioritize & how wholly savored life’s simple pleasures can be is spotlighted. The Ta**us Full Moon offers comfort & a sense of coming home to our entire selves. It asks us to slow our pace, appreciate our gifts & give thanks for what we have & what we can share. This Full Moon is a radiant reminder to match our walk to our talk, aligning what we claim to be true with what we actually demonstrate as true through our actions every day. If there is a big gap between the two, now is the time to course correct. In Ta**us our senses inform us when we are acting in harmony with our deepest values & when we have veered far away from them in practice. And the joy to be found in little pleasures only unfolds when we are wholly present & aligned in body, mind, heart & soul.

This is a profoundly creative lunation. Of course, it’s not any frenzied creative production to prove our worthiness, but simply a recognition that we are already worthy & beautiful with resources to spare & share. Authentic creative expression blooms under the Ta**us Full Moon. Ta**us does rule the throat & throat chakra, our vehicles of all kinds of free, creative expression. Maybe working with the throat chakra in the next few days is an act of love for self: singing, chanting, humming, painting, drawing, playing a musical instrument, dancing, writing, and clearly asking for what we need with clarity & without hesitation, shame or feelings of unworthiness. Wearing or surrounding ourselves with some light blues like turquoise, sky-hues or aquamarine & seek out those who are ready to hear us with gratitude. And of course, don’t forget the other side of that & listen deeply to those we hold dear.

With Venus on board, relationships are highlighted. Touch is a big part of the sensual Ta**us Moon, so maybe you want to book a massage or a Reiki session or simply cuddle up & get cozy with your dear ones, whether human, canine, feline or feathered!
Let’s release whatever blocks our enjoyment of the beauty & pleasure available through our senses at every turn, in every moment.

May we count our blessings instead of our possessions and manifest more of the same. The future is built on one ‘Now’ after another on this Earth. Let's make all of them count.

Let’s stay present & not miss a single thing. 🌝♉️💖☮️🩵💞

" … I don't wanna close my eyes
I don't wanna to fall asleep
'Cause I'd miss you baby
And I don't wanna miss a thing"

SAMHAIN 2025

Samhain (pronounced ‘Sow-in’ in Irish) is the relative midpoint between the Autumn Equinox & the Winter Solstice. It simply means “summer’s end.” It's believed to be an ancient Celtic fire festival celebrating that the last harvest is now done, the old year comes to its end & a new year’s cycle begins. The signs of death & decay are apparent in nature at every turn, so it is also a time of remembering the dead. It really is the origin of our Halloween here in the US. In Ireland, pumpkins were not abundant, but turnips were carved, eerily lit with candles & placed in the windows to scare off any malevolent spirits wandering loose at this time. People would dress in costumes to confuse the same spirits. Disguised with masks & unusual clothing, they imagined they were not readily recognized by spirits who would do harm to them or their families. Minstrels, buskers & beggars, or those dressed as beggars & tramps would come house to house asking for a treat in return for promised prayers for the family’s lost loved ones. It was customary in the Middle Ages for “soul cakes” to be offered to those knocking at the door.

I am of Irish descent -- second generation American born -- & that culture brings a specific meaning to this day for me & my family: that of honoring our ancestors & remembering upon whose mighty shoulders we stand. Those loved ones who have passed are invited into our homes on this night. We display their photos, light a candle for each & repeat their names aloud. We leave an empty place setting at the dinner table & serve some of their favorite dishes & drinks. We remember them with stories, toast them with hearty laughter & a tear or two; we play their most beloved music & take a turn at dancing with their memory, or perhaps recite their favorite poems & book passages. This is the night we celebrate their contributions to our lineage. This festival is often called an ancient Celtic one but there is evidence to suggest that Samhain was celebrated in Ireland at least 2500 years before the Celts arrived on the island. That makes it originally an Irish festival. I’m guessing that’s why Halloween is a big deal for my family: It’s our heritage & in our very bones!

Today, many witches & pagans in the northern hemisphere celebrate Samhain as their New Year, seeing it as the ending of one year’s turn of the wheel & the beginning of another. It was so for my ancestors in times gone by as well. That would make Halloween or Samhain night the Irish New Year’s Eve of old and for those who still follow the old ways. As a matter of tradition, the festival begins on Oct. 31 at sunset and continues until sunset Nov 1. It acknowledges that the new year’s seeds are safely tucked into Mother Earth through the dark months ahead. It is said that at Samhain the veil between the living & the dead grows very thin & spirits can pass through; or we can travel through the shadows to reunite with them there. The liminal looms close, communication with the unseen world is more available, psychic activity swells & divinations of all kinds are practiced, mostly to give voice to the beloved dead & hear what messages the spirit world would deliver.

Astrologically, Samhain falls not on Oct. 31 but on the day at which the sun reaches 15 degrees of Scorpio, the exact cross quarter day between autumn equinox & winter solstice. This day can vary slightly each year. In 2025 that day is on Nov. 7th EST, less than a week after we turn the clocks back an hour here in the US & can truly appreciate how long are the hours of darkness that lay before us. But Samhain can be celebrated on more than one day. In Ireland the whole month of November is called the month of Samhain: they are relatively synonymous so anytime we choose to celebrate our ancestors or commune with Spirit Guides in that month is fine with me & no doubt with them as well.

In whatever way & on whichever day/s we choose to celebrate Samhain, may we give thanks for leaving the old year’s hard toil behind, & embrace the opportunity to rest & envision a gentler path forward for the year ahead. And may we remember those whose love made it possible for us to be here now.

Deep Samhain Peace to all! ✨🍂🌙💫☮️

SAMHAIN, SCORPIO SEASON & THE MORRIGAN:
‘The Great Queen’

The Morrigan is an Irish goddess associated with the shadow lands & death, the latter being seen as a dark event... but in truth death is simply a natural part of the life cycle. Despite collective perceptions, her proximity to death & the other side of the veil by no means makes her an evil deity. She is a shapeshifter whose appearance as a black crow to a soldier before battle portends his death and therefore strikes terror in men’s hearts. But her connection to death, transformation, psychic prediction, mediumship & full self-empowerment as well as her fierce, fearless demeanor make her a suitable Scorpio archetype as well as a fitting symbol for the Scorpio Season’s festival of Samhain. She is sometimes called The Phantom Queen as well for her ability to shapeshift & comfortably traverse the shadow realms. But I think ‘The Great Queen’ is a title better suited to her formidable presence.

CRYSTALS & GEMS FOR LIBRA SEASON

Libra is all about finding balance, harmony & peace. When talking about Libra gems & crystals, Opal is the first one recognized as a natural for this Air Sign, and rightly so. But another birthstone, often overlooked & yet a very helpful crystal for Libra Season, is Pink Tourmaline. This is an ancient stone associated with love, compassion and emotional healing. It has long been revered for its therapeutic effects on emotions and mental distress. Pink tourmaline may help calm emotional disturbances while relieving anxiety-inducing or trauma-related stressors. It is a heart chakra stone but also connects the heart chakra with the crown chakra to bring in universal or divine love. It soothes stress-induced symptoms, promotes feelings of self-love, forgiveness & empathy as well as fostering a deeper connection within ourselves and with others.

Citrine also helps build self-confidence a lack of which can keep Libra from taking a stand of any kind.

Blue stones of any variety -- like the ones listed in the meme below-- but especially Blue Lace Agate, Celestite or Angelite help restore balance to runaway emotions & integrate higher frequencies.

Balance is the theme of Libra Season & reaching balance is essential before entering the sometimes dark, mysterious & formidable emotional energies of Scorpio this evening (Oct. 22, 2025) at 11:51 PM EDT. The shadow time of the year descends upon us. Let's be ready to meet it from a relatively poised foundation. 🌞♎️
