Fresh Start CONNECTS clients in need with Medical Laser professionals who are willing to help. At little or no charge. The Fresh Start Tattoo Removal Program, Inc. (FSP) is a community program that removes visible gang and prison tattoos off of former gang members for FREE to help them get jobs. “Visible” means tattoos on the hands face and neck only. FSP also serves survivors of human trafficking to help facilitate their recovery. Tattoo removal allows certain people to change their lives for the better and allows them to overcome a very large barrier to employment. FSP began about six years ago when Dr.Dave Ores removed tattoos at no charge for this population in need. A good friend and international tattoo artist, Mario Barth (Starlight Tattoos), shared the idea to organize FSP into a viable community project.
“If you are trying to help yourself, we will try to help you” is the core concept of FSP. To date, we have served over one hundred people and improved their chances of obtaining employment with just a few seconds of laser treatment. Currently, we DO NOT have a laser machine and we plan to purchase two new medical lasers to restart the project ASAP. We require a Revlite Si Yag laser and the Accolade laser both by Cynosure, Inc. To that end, we formed a not-for-profit corporation (The Fresh Start Tattoo Removal Program, Inc.) and established 501(c) 3 status. We are now ready to accept charitable donations to buy new machines. We are also soliciting other MD laser providers in the USA to join the project and treat these people at no charge.

Fresh Start has secured $90,000 for a new laser. We are now asking NYC to contribute a matching $90,000 to buy the machine. From the 2019 NYC budget. Anyone have any ideas?
