Friday, March 20, 2026 | 7:30am – 4pm

This full-day program is designed for physicians, advanced care providers and students. The agenda will include curated lectures on current advances in neuroplastic and reconstructive surgery, case-based discussions, hands-on demonstrations, and interactive learning with open dialogue and meaningful exchange with leading experts.

We’re honored to partner with the Cristian Rivera Foundation in support of brain tumor research and patient care. Their generous contribution to the Northwell Health Foundation helps us move science forward while standing beside patients and families when they need us most.

Today our founder John Gungie Rivera, proudly presented a check to Dr. John Boockvar, Vice Chair & Director of the Brain Tumor Center at Lenox Hill Hospital, which will be used for research.

Dr. Boockvar was the recipient of the Vision of Hope Award at our 16th Annual Gala for his dedication, perseverance, and clear vision for a better future. He leads Project Rush at Lenox Hill Hospital and serves as a key figure in the Glioblastoma Research Organization. Dr. Boockvar is an esteemed member of the Academy of Neurological Surgeons and an honorary surgeon for both the NYPD and New York State Troopers. He also gained national attention through his feature on the Netflix docuseries Lenox Hill. His unwavering dedication to medicine and the community continues to inspire both patients and colleagues alike.

This contribution is part of our continued commitment to advancing lifesaving research and supporting families in need. To date the Cristian Rivera Foundation has donated over $4,000.000.00 (4 million dollars) to research and family support.

Today we’re honoring an incredible colleague and friend, Vadim Zhigin, PA-C, who after 14 remarkable years with the Lenox Hill Neurosurgery team is moving on to the next chapter. 💙

Vadim has been a cornerstone of our department, serving as Supervisor of Advanced Clinical Providers, supporting patient care, training, and clinical excellence every day. His leadership, compassion, and dedication have made a lasting impact on our team and the countless patients he’s cared for throughout his tenure.
From mentoring colleagues to being recognized for his outstanding contributions, Vadim has exemplified what it means to be a trusted clinician and teammate.

We are now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 Jenna Chiavelli Clinical Research Fellowship at Lenox Hill Neurosurgery! 🧠💙

This fellowship is named in memory of Jenna Chiavelli, whose strength and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone who cared for her. Each year, this program offers pre-medical students the chance to take part in meaningful neurosurgical research, contribute to academic publications, and observe in both the OR and clinic while collecting data for ongoing studies.

We remain deeply grateful to Mark and Maryann Chiavelli for creating this fellowship in Jenna’s honor. Continuing her legacy through education and research is a privilege for our department.
