Kids should start getting eye exams at an early age, typically around 6 months old. Regular eye exams are essential to detect any vision problems or eye conditions early on, as well as to ensure proper eye development. After the initial exam, children should have follow-up exams at ages 3 and 5, and then yearly exams once they start school.
