With Morris Heights Neighborhood Improvement Association (MHNIA) as its guide, and founder, Verona Greenland, at the helm, Morris Heights Health Center opened its doors in March 1981. Supported by a staff of 10, the center began in earnest to meet the health and social needs of community residents. Thirty years later, Morris Heights Health Center has evolved into a mutli-site organization, with a six story, mixed-use facility, which opened in the summer of 2010. At our health center, everything is focused on our patients. That's why we're known as "The Caring Place"-a facility where the patient is at the center of everything we do. That's a standard of care you can expect, and a promise you can have confidence in seeing fulfilled. Morris Heights Health Center is a world-class model for health care delivery and an oasis of hope. Aptly called “The Caring Place: where the patient is at the center of everything we do”, Morris Heights Health Center is a safe haven, treating the community with dignity, respect and delivering the highest quality of care and support to ALL patients that come through our doors regardless of their ability to pay.
