The most painful part about living with endometriosis is the feeling of being unsupported by

👉Healthcare system
👉Family and friends
👉Workplace

I believe one of the main reasons endometriosis is a growing global epidemic is because the topic of menstruation and the risks of menstrual disorders are still very taboo even in 2023.

Over the past few months, I've done several patient interviews and we all had similar stories of not knowing what endometriosis was before our diagnoses.

Endometriosis is a serious health issue that affects the entire body.

It's NOT a bad period it's a whole body disease triggered by a dysregulated immune system.

Everything I know about endometriosis is because I do extensive research on the illness everyday.

Without this, I would probably still be going through this cycle of treatments and surgeries every two years.

If you're suffering with endometriosis and need support from a trusted and knowledgeable coach, then you know what to do 👆

Endometriosis is a whole body disease and medical treatment alone won’t help relieve your symptoms.

It wasn’t until I took control of my health through mind body and spirit did things turn around for me.

The most important part of my story is that I sought help because I couldn’t do it alone …

And you shouldn’t have to either.

Endometriosis is already a very isolating disease that needs to be talked about more.

Talk to your friends and family letting them know what’s going on.

You’d be surprised to learn that maybe a lot of people you know are going through this silent struggle.

March is Endometriosis Awareness Month

Endometriosis is a female reproductive health condition where the endometrial like tissue forms in ectopic areas of the body but most commonly inside the pelvic cavity. However, it can be found anywhere else in the body.

Symptoms include:

👉 painful periods
👉 heavy periods
👉 severe cramping
👉 infertility
👉 vomiting
👉 body aches
👉 fatigue
👉 mood swings

It often takes 10 years to be diagnosed and the average age for diagnosis is 32.

The gold standard for diagnosis is laparoscopic surgery. Then hormone therapy is the common form of treatment to suppress the growth of the disease.

Surgery and hormone therapy are temporary fixes that don’t get to the root cause of the disease.

Surgery is intended to remove the endometrial adhesions and cysts but can lead to trauma to internal organs and scar tissue build up.

Hormone suppression can lead to weight gain, mood swings, bone density loss, and does not guarantee that the endometriosis will not return.

What can you do about it?

✅ Get to know the disease and what it’s doing to your body

Many women with endometriosis only learn about their condition when trying to conceive.

However, endometriosis is a slow progressing disease that starts as early as your first period.

Research shows that endometriosis is a disease of the immune system. We know that when the immune system is triggered it causes inflammation in the body that leads to pain and fatigue.

If you want to get your endometriosis under control and preserve your fertility, relying only on doctors and medication isn’t going to be enough.

You’re going to have to make some lifestyle changes starting with

🥗 an anti-inflammatory diet
