“My story isn’t perfect, but it’s mine. I’ve been through loss, heartbreak, and depression, but I’ve also found strength and healing through therapy. For a long time, I believed what many of us do—that you just pray about it and keep going. But I’ve learned that God gives people the gift to help others heal, and it’s okay to lean on them.
Now, as a college success advisor, I use my experiences to help my students. I’m open about my struggles because they need to see that it’s okay to ask for help. We can’t keep bottling it up. Healing starts with honesty, and I want them to know they don’t have to face it alone. “

“When I was diagnosed with HIV, my world changed. I had to face my reality and learn how to take care of myself—mentally, emotionally, and physically. It wasn’t easy, but it was necessary.
Now, I share my story because I want others to know: living with HIV isn’t the end of your story. You can still thrive, still find joy, and still show up for yourself. HIV doesn’t define me. I live every day Higher In Victory. 💜✨” -Dominique
