Great article about the potential of environmental DNA (eDNA) for disease surveillance! This innovative approach uses genetic material collected from the environment to track the spread of pathogens, potentially allowing us to stop outbreaks before they cause widespread harm. Geoseeq (thanks for the shoutout), the platform hosting Dr. Christopher Mason's lab MetaSub data, is at the forefront of eDNA analysis, monitoring for pathogens in wastewater, helping communities stay ahead of potential outbreaks. This is a game-changer for public health, and we are excited to see how eDNA technology continues to develop. In their quest to detect early outbreaks, virus hunters are sampling environmental DNA in water, dirt, and air.

Our CEO, Dr. Niamh O'Hara, is currently attending the Milken Institute in DC. On a inspiring panel, Dr. Susan Coller Monarez, Ph.D., Deputy Director, ARPA-H, spoke about how Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) was formed to make groundbreaking advancements and innovative solutions in healthcare in gaps not currently being addressed. One of the key focuses, as for Biotia, is on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in their program.

GeoSeeq Foundation and Pasteur Network partner to tackle climate-associated increases in infectious disease!

Complex global challenges are best addressed by unlocking the power of existing networks and empowering institutes anchored in local communities.

Today we announce a new partnership to bring together Pasteur Network — a storied and unique organization covering a breadth of countries, people and public health challenges — with nonprofit GeoSeeq Foundation — an AI-powered platform for tracking emerging and circulating pathogens, microbial discovery and predictive modeling.
