We are now forming a Self-Esteem Group with our clinician, .msed, who will help our clients together. Self-esteem is a person’s subjective evaluation of their worth and capabilities. It influences how individuals perceive themselves, impacting their confidence and emotional well-being. Cultivating positive self-esteem involves recognizing strengths, learning from experiences, and fostering a healthy self-image.

Our self-esteem group functions as a support for individuals aiming to enhance and improve their self-esteem. These gatherings offer a nurturing atmosphere where participants can openly discuss their self-esteem-related experiences, challenges, and accomplishments. The objective of our group is to establish a secure environment for individuals to delve into and tackle issues that might impact their self-worth and confidence adversely.

We often hear people say "have some empathy." Some individuals are confused with the difference between empathy and sympathy. Sympathy is understanding the other person's suffering from your own perspective. Empathy is connecting to the other person's feelings and understanding why they have these feelings. There are three types of empathy:

1️⃣ Cognitive Empathy - It is putting yourself in one's shoes and understanding why they feel the way they do.

2️⃣ Compassion empathy - being compassionate and have the ability to understand how they feel and take action on their behalf without letting your emotions take over.

3️⃣ Affective Empathy - having a shared emotional experience, feeling what the other is feeling.

Learning to be more empathetic helps us better co-exist and support our community.

All of the 8 dimensions of wellness are necessary to have a balanced and happy life. To experience optimal mental and physical health, all eight areas of your well-being must be healthy and nourished. They are all interconnected. Fulfilled in one place will affect other areas as well.

Wellness refers to your entire overall health, not just your physical health. Wellness is not only being free of disease, illness, or stressors but also having a purpose in life, being emotionally healthy and balanced, having positive involvement in your work and in your leisure time, and having meaningful relationships and happiness. To enjoy fulfilled and happy lives, it is important to take care of your well-being and invest time in your wellness.

What is mental well-being? It is a combination of psychological, emotional, and social health. It refers to how we move through life and react to its troubles. These fluctuations can range from everyday stressors to significant life changes.

Often, you will be faced with things out of your control and uncertainty. Your mental well-being shapes how you respond and handle the situation. When you have a healthy mental well-being, you are prepared to face the uncertainty with strength, and you will navigate through the turbulence easier.

Taking care of your mental well-being can improve emotional health and emotional well-being, including greater self-esteem and reduced anxiety.

Passion and motivation are twins. Passion is the game and motivation is never lacking. If you are experiencing inconsistent motivation, then chances are, you’re not living your passion.

There are ways to unwrap your passion:
❤️ Authenticity of oneself
❤️ Open-mindness, creative, and willing to learn
❤️ Shift your mindset
❤️ Build resilience
❤️ Create new routines and habits

"If you do not make conscious changes today, you will continue down the same path you’re on right now. Knock out the stuff that doesn’t matter to you, and replace it with more passion, joy, and adventure." - Karen Putz

FIRST TIME GETTING GOAL-ORIENTED THERAPY❓
If you have never been to therapy before, you’re probably wondering about what that first meeting with your therapist will be like. It’s virtually impossible in advance to describe precisely what to expect, as each client-specialist relationship is unique. However, it’s probably safe to say that your experience in therapy will hinge in great part on four critical factors. In reverse order of importance, these are:

1. The theoretical orientation (psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral therapy, etc.)
2. The personal style of the therapist you choose
3. Your attitude about your therapy
4. Your openness with your therapist
