Join me for a 90-minute immersive exploration of the root energy center, the seat of stability, safety, and structural support, at this beautiful temple in the heart of SoHo.

We’ll begin with a brief talk, move through standing postures, slow transitions, and hip & pelvic awareness, with mantra and guided mudra (hand seal) meditation.
We’ll end with a deep restorative relaxation.

This practice is designed to reduce anxiety, strengthen your energetic foundation, and cultivate the confidence that comes from truly inhabiting your body, and feeling safe in the world.

SWING INTO SPRING
A Yoga & Ayurveda Renewal

Spring is a natural time for renewal.
After the heaviness and cold of winter, our bodies begin to shift, energies start to rise, circulation improves, and nature invites us to move forward.
In both Yoga and Ayurveda, this seasonal transition is an ideal moment to clear stagnation, ignite Agni, digestive fire, and bring lightness back into the body and mind.
I’m excited to offer a special March online series:

Over four Sundays, we will move through a progression designed to support this seasonal shift.
Week 1 — Cleanse Release winter heaviness through twists and gentle heating practices.
Week 2 — Ignite Strengthen our core and build energy to awaken the body.
Week 3 — Expand Heart-opening postures and breathing practices to create space and vitality.
Week 4 — Rise  Balancing and stabilizing postures, along with meditation to wrap-up the work of the series.

Each class includes asana, pranayama, Ayurvedic tips and a handout to guide you through a simple home-practice to help you incorporate this practice into your daily life.

This series is beginner-friendly and open to all levels.

“Gurus are made to fall” said a wise friend, as I am processing this new information that has come to light about Deepak Chopra.

A few years ago, I co-created a fundraiser event for COVID-relief for India. Deepak Chopra was one of the keynote speakers. I have met him a few times over the years and my experience of him has been positive. He was kind and paternal toward me. He invited me to become one of his educators, and I graciously accepted.

I appreciate his huge contribution in bringing Yoga, Ayurveda and eastern medicine and healing modalities to the mainstream West. It saddens me that he strayed from the path he showed us.

He is a Guru, even in his fall, a mirror, teaching us that we need to tend to the shadows within each of us, and heal our trauma, lest they come out sideways. I hope that he will seek help.

I pray for all the women and children who were victimized and preyed on. I pray that I will continue to see the shadows within myself, bring them to light and heal.

This New Year join me for a 7- session online Chakra Yoga series.

Chakras are focal points of convergence of astral nerves in the astral body, arranged along the spine in the physical body. These are powerful centres of Prana or life force.

Each week, we will explore one chakra, starting with the root chakra, through a practice that includes asana, pranayama, and guided chakra meditation. This series is meant to support grounding, balance, and stability as we move into the new year with clarity and intention.

What the series includes:
* 7 live online classes (90 minutes each).
* A focused theme each week, moving from Root to Crown Chakra.
* Full class recordings (available for 10 days).
* Simple PDF handouts for each chakra (key qualities, and practices to support).

Hello friends, please join me this weekend to close out the year with a 3-class series combining my passion for Yoga & Ayurveda.

As winter is here, it is essential to keep our Agni - inner fire - strong, balanced and healthy. We will use yogic and ayurvedic wisdom to ignite this fire, boosting immunity, strengthening digestion and maintaining calm and emotional balance.

- Pranayama breathing to build heat

- Restorative postures for deep relaxation

I sat in a cafe across from the ashram in Puttaparthi, listening to the chants of the ongoing Rudra Maha Yajna. I lost myself and painted Baba. I never noticed before how beautiful he is.

Yoga for Long-COVID & Pulmonary Health

According to the CDC, 6 in 10 Americans live with at least one chronic disease.

Yoga is often recommended for people with chronic illnesses, yet there is very little discussion about how best to practice. Yoga that is taught consciously can offer a sanctuary of self-care for spoonies (people who have energy-limiting conditions), as well as people with chronic pain or other chronic conditions.

Whether you are a practitioner or a teacher, this new workshop series from the is an opportunity to learn from teachers who have navigated chronic conditions themselves, so that you can gain insight for your own practice or to help you guide your students in a safe and effective way.

My father passed away a week ago on Fri, Feb 2nd. My heart is broken open. I’m blessed to have been there with him before he left. He suffered a lot in the last few years. I’m grateful he is free now.

This is uncharted territory for me, and I’m processing my grief as best as I can while taking care of my mother, and logistics.
It’s been a huge lesson in practicing self-care while care-giving.
All my yoga and meditation practices are rising up to support and give me strength.

I’ll be extending my stay in India for a few more months, and teaching all my classes virtually.

Grateful for life, for all the love that is here and the opportunity to navigate uncertainty as gracefully as I can.

Goodbye Acha. Go in peace. All is well between us. I love you ❤️

2023 is sending me off in a truly special way🌟 I celebrated my birthday in India. It was the first time I’ve seen my parents on my birthday, and celebrated with my mother, since I was 18. It was so magical.

I felt so loved, surrounded by dear friends and had the yummiest vegan chocolate cake ever. Thanks

Grateful for all the gifts and lessons 2023 brought in. Can’t wait to see what 2024 has in store.

Khichadi or Kitchari is a delicious one-pot grain and lentil dish I’ve grown up eating in India. It is a fully balanced Ayurvedic meal, cooked thoroughly for easy digestion, in a blend of fresh ground spices. A perfect meal, especially when you’re sick.

As a Chopra Ayurveda Lifestyle Educator, I teach my clients to make kitchari. I spice mine simply with turmeric, cumin, and sea salt, and make it from scratch.

So when I received a box of .nyc ‘s assorted packaged kitcharis, I was a bit skeptical. I’d never had Kitchari out of a package before.

I was pleasantly surprised. This was the tastiest kitchari I’ve had in a very long time. I tried the Balanced Kitchari and the Warming vm Kitchari. So yummy! And they were both so distinctly flavoured. I added fresh curry leaves.

In just 20 mins you have a delicious meal, ideal for cold winter days.

Fear, confusion, loneliness, anxiety, instability are normal, human, and natural experiences of life, but in these times of terror and war, these experiences can be even more overwhelming. Here’s a simple practice to help restore and balance the nervous system.

We are bioelectrical beings living on an electric planet. We need to recharge our battery by plugging into the natural electric charge of the earth. This ‘grounds’ us.

I am grateful for the Ayurvedic tool of grounding, which I have been practicing daily lately, helping me have a ground beneath me, literally and metaphorically. Try it out for yourself:

* Take your shoes off and walk barefoot on a patch of grass or earth
* Place your hands on a large rock or boulder
* Walk through a stream, keeping your footing on solid rock
* Climb a tree

These are simple yet powerful acts to take care of ourselves, connect with nature and ground our electrical energy.
