Lipedema is finally getting the attention it deserves—thank you to Doja Cat for bringing visibility to a condition that is so often misunderstood.
This is not “just weight gain.”
Lipedema is a chronic medical condition involving abnormal fat distribution, most commonly in the legs, that does not respond to diet and exercise in the same way as typical adiposity.
Common signs include:
• Disproportionate lower body
• Pain or tenderness
• Easy bruising
• Feeling of heaviness
• Feet typically spared
Too many patients are dismissed or told to “just lose weight,” which delays diagnosis and appropriate care.
Early recognition matters. A comprehensive approach—including compression, lymphatic support, and individualized treatment—can significantly improve symptoms and quality of life.
If this sounds familiar, consider evaluation with a clinician experienced in lipedema. Schedule a phone consultation at www.mmweightloss.com
