My most recent post explores some steps we can take in this challenging age of the coronavirus to create more inner (spiritual) freedom in our lives. I review some topics I had covered in previous posts: the nature of the spiritual path, how to work with difficult emotional feelings, and how to work with our ego-minds when they may be undermining us. Then I discuss the fears we all have of Covid-19.
I point out that we all have realistic fears of the virus. But that is not all. The danger of dying that is stirred up in each of us by the virus can also stir up deeper feelings about loss, death, and abandonment that are present in all of us as leftover traces from our childhood. Understanding some of these deeper inner fears can help us be more at peace with the realistic challenges that we all must face today.
