Perimenopause isn’t something we can shelve until later, if you’re a woman over 35 like I am. surveyed 700+ women to gather insights into their experiences with symptoms, treatments, and societal expectations. Their findings reveal how much more needs to be done to close the gap in women’s health.

We’re sharing Oova’s mission to raise awareness and help break the silence around perimenopause. Read the report (link in our bio) and help us spread the word!

Thank you so much for writing such an amazing article! I frequently help clients navigate how to set friends and family up for success in terms of support. This is a wonderful article for anyone looking to set up support systems for success while ttc or for those wondering how to support someone going through the journey.

The overturning of Roe sickens and saddens me. As a woman, mother, and professional in the infertility space this makes my heart heavy. My daughter was born from IVF. I had embryos discarded because they went through genetic testing and were abnormal. When I was going through treatment I was struggling with all sorts of things, but the legal system was not one of them.

I have no idea what the future holds for me in terms of more children but I’d sure like to have the freedom and autonomy to make the choice. I would like for my daughter to have choices about reproductive rights and family building.

We must ban together and raise our voices. Let us not be victims in this but warriors.

You are your own best advocate- reach out to your legislators and voice your opinion. Share on social media. Educate. Find strength in fear.

A big part of my work is patient and healthcare advocacy and I feel inclined to post about how I’ve had to do this for myself the past few months.

I haven’t really been myself since December when I got sick-I never really bounced back and my mental and physical health were really suffering. It’s hard for me to believe this photo from the was just in November.

I was chronically tired and felt like I was in a fog - I have had no life outside of work and single parenting because both of those left me drained.

I knew that there was something wrong and wouldn’t take “you’re just stressed and work too much” for an answer. I am guilty of both of those things but I’m resilient and can handle it. These physical symptoms were something else.

I finally found out I had low ferritin and have started treatment - I am hopeful I will come back to myself soon. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired!

A huge thank you to for posting about her journey and for answering my DM. I always tell my patients it takes a village and finding others who can relate is one of the most important things to help with going through infertility- turns out it’s exactly what I needed also.

As we say in , YOU are your own best advocate.

Never give up and here’s to brighter days ahead.

One of the most common questions potential clients ask is “how many sessions do I need?” I always say that therapy is a personal and individual journey and there’s no prescribed regimen. For those that are worried they don’t have enough time for therapy or can’t afford it, a growing body of research suggests that single session interventions (SSI) can facilitate fast and sometimes lasting change.

Do you find yourself constantly scrolling on your phone or computer, getting sucked into the rabbit hole of the internet?

Recent studies have shown a correlation between doomscrolling (never-ending consumption of the internet or social media) and an increased level of anxiety, both in adults and children.

Here are some tips for stopping this habit:

1. Choose just a couple of trustworthy sources for answers
2. Implement regular news and social media breaks by disabling notifications or leaving your phone elsewhere
3. Set boundaries. Set a timer for yourself or a set period of time you will allow yourself to go on the internet every day. Once you have hit your time allotment, turn it off until the next day.

Paying attention to how you prepare and store your food is just as important as making healthy food choices.

1. Replace plastic food storage with glass. BPA is a known endocrine disruptor. Although manufacturers have created products that are BPA-free, they may still contain other bisphenols which are harmful. The safest solution is to swap plastic for glass.

2. Steer clear of non-stick cookware. Instead, use cast iron since baked on oils create the non-stick finish, not chemicals. *Hack* Cast iron pans need to be "oiled" every 6-12 months to remain non-stick. To do this at home, coat your cast iron pan in coconut oil. Heat in the oven at 400 degrees for 45-60 minutes upside down. Put a cookie sheet at the bottom of your oven to catch any oil that drips off in the process.

You are what you eat! Make sure you read nutrition and ingredient labels so you know exactly what you're putting in your body. Look out for hidden additives and sugars--a good rule of thumb is the less ingredients the better, and if you can't pronounce an ingredient you may want to rethink putting it in your body!

There’s a typo in this which is driving my Type A self crazy but I love it so much.
