Trying to win an argument creates distance rather than build connection.

“Crossing the bridge” means temporarily setting aside your own perspective so you can walk into theirs with curiosity, not judgment.

From that place, deeper connection & and healing becomes possible.

You can say, “Listen I’m feeling activated right now, I need to take a break, I’ll be back in 20 minutes [or let’s reconnect tonight about this].”

And then you can exit the situation and self-regulate, which can include a breathing exercise, cyclic sighing (check out my post on this earlier in my feed).

When we’re in fight or flight mode, the part of our brain that reasons and is able to be thoughtful (frontal lobe) gets disconnected.

It takes about 20 minutes for the brain to reconnect.

Give yourself that time to re-regulate and then return to the conversation.

I promise you that you will have much more effective outcomes.

✨ — Scandinavian simplicity meets Morrocan Baraka & Berkshire bliss! ✨

After four years of love, sweat, and a wee bit of bickering, we’ve created something pretty special: luxury that feels like coming home.

180 pastoral and wooded acres. Ancient maples. Morning mist.
🏊‍♀️ Heated saltwater pool, sauna + outdoor shower 🥾 Private hiking trails, 🎵 20 minutes to Tanglewood + Jacob’s Pillow, 🌾 Surrounded by organic farms + heart-centered humans who make things with their own hands (and will happily share time and a cup of tea, even if you don’t share the same politics. Imagine that 🤷🏻‍♀️).

The main house + eco-studio — for those who know true luxury is presence, not pretense (tho the thread count on the linens is high).
Think: farm fresh eggs. Evening swims with fireflies as your entertainment. Conversations that meander like our Columbia County roads and end somewhere beautiful under actual stars.

Time here follows the seasons. Kairos versus Kronos. Deep rest is possible. Connection happens naturally — with the earth, each other, ourselves.

All sorts of wonderful things will be going on here, but for now we’re booking on Airbnb — limited availability for an intimate, unhurried experience.
