❄️ WINTER STORM ALERT❄️
Stay safe this weekend, Bronx! As a significant winter storm approaches, your safety and well-being are our top priority at Jacobi/North Central Bronx. We're here for essential care, but we also want you to stay safe at home!
Here's how to prepare and what to do during the cold winter storm:
Stay Warm, Stay Inside: Limit outdoor exposure. If you must go out, dress in layers, wear hats, gloves, and waterproof outerwear to prevent hypothermia and frostbite.
Emergency Essentials: Have a fully charged cell phone, flashlight with extra batteries, a first-aid kit, enough food, water, and essential medications for at least 3 days.
Heating Safety: NEVER use ovens, gas stoves, or charcoal grills to heat your home due to the risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Ensure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are working.
Keep Pathways Clear: Safely clear snow and ice from your property to prevent slips and falls.
Check on Loved Ones: Reach out to elderly neighbors, friends, or family members who might need assistance.
Stay Informed: Monitor official weather advisories and local news for updates.
Important Contacts for Assistance:
Life-Threatening Emergencies: Call 911.
