This 25-Hour Trauma-Informed Yoga Assisting Training is an advanced immersion designed for certified yoga teachers and professional trainers who want to refine their hands-on skills with greater awareness, precision, and integrity. Learn how to safely and confidently assist more than 55 postures across standing poses, hip openers, twists, backbends, inversions, and restorative shapes.

The program emphasizes body mechanics, clear consent language, nervous system literacy, and the difference between stabilizing, grounding, and deepening assists—ensuring that touch supports empowerment rather than correction.

Rooted in trauma-informed principles and nervous system regulation, this training moves beyond traditional alignment-based assisting to prioritize psychological safety, choice, and co-regulation. Teachers develop the ability to read the room, recognize signs of dysregulation, and offer verbal, energetic, and physical assists that honor each student’s autonomy. Through practice labs, real-time feedback, and a final practicum, participants leave with refined technical skill, ethical clarity, and a deeper capacity to hold space with confidence and compassion.

When the nervous system is regulated, it cultivates a sense of peace and calm — a feeling of true rest, deep clarity, and grounded responsiveness. Through stillness and awareness of the breath, you reconnect with your highest self.

I kept Oliver with me for 8 days while he recovered from surgery and decompressed.
Now that he’s more comfortable I am posting again as the goal is the same: We are looking for a long term foster or even better, a patient adopter for Oliver.

Oliver was kept in my spare office for a week , mostly isolated because he was resting, quiet and decompressing from his former life living in a bird cage. He seemed to want to be alone. This weekend he is showing signs that he was ready to leave the room. I let him free for some time to explore the house. He is not shy, he is curious and playful. However he does have periods of confusion where he pulls back and gets upset.

Ideally he needs a quiet home with no young children, maybe even no other animals and time and patience to blossom at his own pace.

Why my home is not an appropriate foster home:

I have young children
I have other cats
I am keeping him in a room and he’s ready to graduate to a larger space with more human contact

Medical: Oliver is neutered, up to date on shots and healthy. Estimated to be around 5

History: Oliver has lived in a small birdcage for years due to his owner worrying about him scratching the furniture. He’s loved with 2 pitbulls but not sure he’s ever interacted with them beyond the cage
