“Being happy for others is way easier without comparing yourself to them.”

At the Community Meditation Center, we are exploring the Four Heart Qualities. This week we turn to being happy for the successes and the happiness of others.

✨ Join us as we reflect together:
🌿 For whom can we be happy?
🌿 How does joy feel?
🌿 What helps us when joy for others is difficult to find?

Through Dharma reflections, meditation, and shared presence, we’ll explore how joy steadies the heart, nourishes community, and helps us meet the world with ease.

“War is a monstrous lack of imagination.” — Franz Kafka

Today at the Community Meditation Center New York, we are exploring the Four Heart Qualities. This week we turn to compassion — empathy that responds to suffering with action. Compassion is not just a feeling, it is something we do.

✨ How are you doing compassion in your life these days?

Through Dharma reflections, meditation, and shared presence, we’ll explore how compassion can steady the heart and guide us in times of difficulty.

Join us today for our final session of the summer!

Sometimes letting go feels like loss — yet in the space of release, peace can unfold.

“In the space of letting go, she let it all be.” — Reverend Safire Rose

This Sunday at the Community Meditation Center, we’ll close our series on perception with the healing perception of cessation — the letting go of what stands in the way of our happiness and freedom.

✨ What have you let go of that first felt like loss, but later brought a sense of freedom?

Through Dharma reflections, meditation, and shared presence, we’ll explore how the perception of cessation can soften the heart and free the mind.

“The path of liberation starts here in this moment, in this body right now.”
— nakawe cuebas berrios

Join us online this Sunday at Community Meditation Center.
We’re honored to welcome our dear friend and guest teacher, nakawe cuebas, who will guide us in exploring viriya—the pāramī of effort, energy, and perseverance.

In meditation, effort isn’t about striving or pushing. It’s the steady, compassionate energy that helps us stay present. Nakawe invites us to discover this living balance in our practice.
This session is part of our ongoing series on the 10 Pāramīs—qualities that support awakening and wise, compassionate living.
