🎧PODCAST SINGLES = NEW
Diana Gasperoni and Ednesha Saulsbury are the dynamic hosts of BeReal, The Podcast. They are both psychotherapists in New York and they started recording together in March 2020 and have been busy bringing a wide variety of guests and topics to the table all within the frame of mental health.

Topics like imposter syndrome, racial trauma, yoga during pregnancy, the importance of laughter, parenting issues, couples therapy, grief, and even business marketing for therapists. They dove deep into issues affecting all of us throughout 2020 and beyond it. Each host brings her own expertise, humor, and tons of warmth to these interviews and topics.

While they typically host a guest, this episode is about the often misunderstood Seasonal Affective Disorder and includes Ednesha and Diana in conversation sharing their knowledge of and potential treatment plans for S.A.D. They do spontaneously welcome Ednesha's partner, who suffers from S.A.D., who generously shares his personal coping strategies.

This single episode was originally recorded in September 2021. We hope you enjoy it!

🌷 Holiday self-care goals 🌷 Have a wonderful holiday weekend and try to take some time for yourself 🐣

04/06/2023

As you go into the holiday weekend, remember these growth mindset statements:⠀
⠀
✨ I have not failed; I just started.⠀
✨ I will focus on progress, not the end goal.⠀
✨ It is okay to ask for help.⠀
✨ I am a better version of myself today.⠀
✨ I will not doubt myself; self-doubt and dreams do not mix well.⠀
⠀
Which of these statements do you need today? Let us know your favorite in the comments 👇️

Happy Monday 💙 with every start to the week it’s important to check-in with yourself.

How are you feeling today?

03/17/2023

✨ REMINDER✨ It's okay to take a break. Taking breaks doesn’t always come easy to us, so wants to remind you that it’s okay. Breaks are allowed, and often it is necessary to pause, take a break, and start again.

03/16/2023

One of the biggest reasons our clients say they don’t get enough self-care is because “I don’t have enough time.” Here’s the thing, self-care doesn’t have to take up too much time! Here are some of our most effective self-care tips that take UNDER 5 MINUTES!

💙 List 5 things you are grateful for
💙 Go outside, close your eyes, and take 10 deep breaths of fresh air
💙 Do 2 minutes of jumping jacks
💙 Turn on your favorite music and jam out
💙 Drink a glass of water

It’s important to incorporate self-care into your daily practices. Self-care doesn’t have to mean going to a therapy session, workout class, or taking a bubble bath. You can have a self-care break even when you have a few minutes in between meetings.

Not having “enough time” for self-care is a myth!

This week, we encourage you to find the time for self-care, even if it is for 5 minutes! Which strategy are you going to use?! Comment below and let us know your favorite self-care practices!

New on the BLOG ✨ In 2020, the American Psychological Association predicted that pandemic-related stress would lead to a national mental health crisis that would continue for years past the pandemic.

The impact of the pandemic on mental health has become increasingly apparent in all aspects of life, including work. With an estimated 83% of workers suffering from work-related stress, employers find themselves in a unique and challenging position to ensure employees’ physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Employers must recognize the importance of mental health in the workplace and regard their employees’ health as essential for company success.

Why investing in employees’ mental health is essential:
1️⃣ Increased productivity
2️⃣ Better retention
3️⃣ Lowered costs
4️⃣ It’s the Right thing to do

Some thoughts as we head into the weekend. Reset your mindset and tell us what will help you in the comments below ⬇️

03/09/2023

You can be a strong woman and still struggle with your mental health.

You can be an independent woman and still struggle with your mental health.

You can have the "dream job" and still struggle with your mental health.

You can have the relationship you have always wanted and still struggle with your mental health.

You can go to all the orange theory classes, drink green smoothies, do meditations on headspace, and still struggle with your mental health.

This is because struggling with your mental health is part of being HUMAN. Yep - that's right it is part of life, we can't avoid it. Everyone struggles with their mental health - no matter how strong, independent, motivated, or how much money they have.

Many of our clients have said this phrase - "I'm a strong woman, I shouldn't be struggling with my mental health". Just because you are a woman that is strong, successful, independent, and driven does NOT mean that you are not wired to struggle. We all are wired to struggle, it is a part of being human. 💙

Monday thoughts 💭It’s okay to not be okay. We ALL have good and bad days and if you’re feeling down, it happens to everyone.

Tips:
✨ Stay connected to your people : This can be very hard, especially if you don’t want others to know what is going on but it can help. This could be as simple as starting a small conversation with your friends, teachers, family, or anyone else.

✨Rely on your coping skills : Some healthy coping strategies include yoga, taking a walk, playing a sport, going on a run, deep breathing, to name a few.

✨Let yourself feel what you feel : When a low day happens, it doesn’t mean you have to shut out what you are truly feeling inside. Acknowledging your feelings can help you move through them.

💫 Friday mental Health check 💫 How are you feeling this week? Ask yourself these questions:

- Do I have enough sleep?
- What am I feeling right now?
- Did I show myself & others kindness this week?
- Am I drinking enough water?
- Did I move my body enough?

If you answer 'no' to any of them -- try to change it up this weekend 💙

As we look deeper into our interpersonal relationships, we can’t forget to examine our first relationships - with our parents!! It was during our early years with parents that we developed our attachment style that we bring with us into our Adult Relationships!

An attachment style is a specific pattern of behavior in and around relationships. There are four adult attachment styles: secure attachment, anxious attachment, avoidant attachment, and fearful-avoidant (aka disorganized) attachment.

Do you know your attachment style? And Did you know that you can change them and also you can go back and repair and/or enhance your relationships with your parents at any time and this healing could have a direct positive effect on your current or future relationship?

What’s your attachment style? Avoidant, Fearful-Avoidant, Secure, Anxious?

Here’s a Monday reminder that the STRUGGLE is part of your STORY. Your struggle is not permanent, but is a chapter or even a few pages within your story. Your struggle does not redefine your value. You are as worthy as you are with hardships as without

Embracing that struggling is what makes us human. It is OKAY to struggle. It is OKAY to not always know the next step

Your story is not over – your struggle does not define you.

02/17/2023

Friday thoughts 💭 Emotional acceptance is an active process that involves turning towards one’s emotions, and deeply engaging with those emotions. It’s OKAY to have emotions 💙

02/15/2023

Continuing with the theme of love and partnerships this week – let’s talk about our communication. With friends, partners, family, coworkers, kids, parents, + more – relationships all have good and bad moments.

Healthy communication with your partner can create a stronger, more meaningful relationship. Though there can be some trial and error involved, we all have the potential to be good communicators in our relationships.

When you communicate with your partner, you can:
✨Avoid misunderstandings and have fewer arguments
When you communicate openly with your partner, you leave little room for assumptions, confusion, and inaccurate conclusions.
✨Build trust
Open communication creates trust, which is the main building block in any relationship. When you can trust your partner fully, your relationship becomes rooted in honesty.
✨Create a deeper connection
Communicating openly will make your relationship feel like a safe space to share and learn more about one another.

How has better communication strengthened your relationship?

February 14th rolls around every year and it means something to each person. To some, it’s a time to cuddle up with their honey, for some it’s to throw a wine and cheese ‘Galentines Day party, and for others, it’s to buy chocolate on clearance on February 15th and indulge in their sorrows of being single 💙

No matter what Valentine’s Day brings up for you, there is something that we all can benefit from – some extra self-love. Let’s make Valentine’s Day 2023 the year that we put all that affection, appreciation, and love towards ourselves.

What kind of self-love are you celebrating this year? Let us know in the comments below 👇️
