National Breastfeeding Month continue with
Deaf & Hard of Hearing Breastfeeding Week! 💕🎉

Theme: "Close the Gap Bridge the Divide: Establish Breastfeeding Support Access."

Today marks the start of the first ever Deaf & Hard of Hearing Breastfeeding Week! As an allied partner with the Deaf community, the DC Breastfeeding Coalition fostered the initiation of the first-ever Deaf and Hard of Hearing Breastfeeding Collective. The theme for this first-of-its-kind observance is "Close the Gap Bridge the Divide: Establish Breastfeeding Support Access."

The purpose of this initiative is to provide the nation's marginalized and underrepresented Deaf community with accessible breastfeeding education, support, and community, because language and breastfeeding access matters from birth! Follow Deaf & Hard of Hearing Breastfeeding to keep up with the observance's activities.

This past week, U.S. Breastfeeding Committee "National Breastfeeding Month" cultural observances finished strong with Latina/x Breastfeeding Week from 9/8 to 9/14 💕💝🎉

LBW 2025 theme is "Territories of the Heart / Breastfeeding without Borders ~ Territorios del Corazon / Lactancia sin Fronteras". In general, LBW highlights breastfeeding support of the United Nations "Global Sustainable Development Goals" 💞

I am proud to be a 1st generation daughter of Dominican immigrants 🇩🇴, a mother of 3 children breastfed during 10 yrs total, a Lactation Consultant for 8+ years, and member of the Latinx Lactation Leadership Collective 💞 Orgullosa de ser hija de inmigrantes Dominicanos 🇩🇴, madre que amamantó 3 hijos durante 10 años total, soy Consultora de Lactancia por mas de 8 años y miembro de la Unión de Líderes de la Lactancia Latina.
