“I’m so excited to be running my first-ever marathon for CHAM! Since starting medical school at Einstein last fall, l’ve found it incredibly meaningful to connect with the Bronx community, and I feel honored to give back to children who need it most right here in my own neighborhood. The Einstein Run Club reignited my love for running (and my tolerance for way-too-early Saturday mornings) and has introduced me to some of my best friends here. Supporting a cause so close to my heart makes this journey even more special.”

“I am so excited to run the NYC Marathon in support of pediatric palliative care here at CHAM! As a current 4th year medical student at Einstein, I had the amazing opportunity to do my pediatrics clerkship at CHAM and have seen firsthand the strength of patients and their families and the incredible dedication of the care team. I started running during medical school as a way to find balance amidst a busy schedule. I am currently applying to residency in internal medicine with hopes to one day become an oncologist and running has continued to ground me.”

It’s that time of year again and our Champions for CHAM are back!

Donations raised this year will go towards CHAM’s Quality in Life Team (QUILT). QUILT is a specialized team supporting families facing life threatening or life limiting diagnoses, working to support multiple needs for the entire family. 🔄 _ Join the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein for our Sickle Cell Awareness Day event, featuring activities, educational presentations, raffles, giveaways and more!

Lunch will be provided, and daycare is available for younger children. The event takes place on Saturday, September 13th from 11:00AM-3:00PM in the Grand Hall. To RSVP, call 718-741-2342.

We are excited to be a recipient of a 2025 Play Grant from The Toy Foundation! This grant will ensure our patients and families have continued access to play even when seeking healthcare. This support enhances our waiting spaces with interactive tools to keep patients and siblings entertained while awaiting a treatment or appointment.

Back to School: Academic Medicine Edition!

Grand Rounds returned with our own Dr. Andrew Racine, System Senior Vice President , Executive Director, Montefiore Medical Group, and President-Elect for the American Academy of Pediatrics! Dr. Racine gave an overview of the past, present, and future of Medicaid and pediatric health coverage policy.

As his final slides says, “this is why we do this”. We look forward to more informative talks as we continue our work to provide excellent care to children and families in the Bronx and beyond!

More from our Campers! Our families and staff enjoyed water sports, games, archery, arts and crafts, and more. Special thanks to two of our volunteers Julia Macias and Nicole Castillo (last slide) - who are both pre-medical students! Nicole also participated in Einstein’s Summer Undergraduate Mentorship Program. We were grateful to have them both at camp this year!

Our ! This group set out for Camp Spinnaker in New Hampshire for our sixth annual .

Children with persistent asthma requiring daily medications, and their families joined Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Einstein pediatric asthma specialist, Dr. Karen Warman and pre-medical student volunteers for the trip. The group enjoys camp activities including arts&crafts, water activities, team sports, and more. Each day there is also an age-appropriate asthma educational component. update! Yearly influenza vaccine is recommended for everyone 6 months and up to protect them from getting sick. This past influenza season was one of our most severe in recent years for children. We know from many studies that children and adults who get the flu vaccine receive safe protection to prevent severe illness. Keep your children and your family well this coming fall and winter!

Join us this Thursday June 6th for Wear Orange: National Gun Violence Awareness Day. Wear Orange is an annual, national event for honoring victims and survivors and raising awareness as we work towards a future without gun violence.

Fi****ms are the leading cause of death for children and teens under 18. Our team members care deeply about childhood safety and continue their advocacy efforts through events like Wear Orange.
