This Morning Tonic Has All My Clothes Fitting Loose

After years of miserable failure with unnecessary sports activities, trying to get back in shape, I came across this "weird" morning routine, "Japanese Tonic" recommended by my old friend.

Banana and Avocado Shake

Avocado and h**p seeds make this shake a protein enriched one. If you are short on energy, give this shake recipe a try! The raw cacao nibs and wheatgrass content of the shake packs in magnesium, which is a chemical element that provides you with an incredible amount of energy for the day, so this is a great recipe for the athletes.

Ingredients

Makes 1 serving
½ a banana, chopped and frozen
¼ part of a ripe avocado, pitted
1 small handful of spinach
1 handful of frozen berries
1 1/2 teaspoons of shelled h**p seeds
1/4 teaspoon of wheatgrass powder
1/4 cucumber, chopped
1 tablespoon of raw cacao nibs
Scant 1 cup of coconut water or water, add more extra if needed

Method

Chop the banana and place it in a freezer bag. Seal it and keep it in the fridge overnight until it is solid. Put the banana in a blender with the remaining ingredients. Blend well until smooth and creamy, adding a little more water to loosen the consistency.

Oat Shake

Oats are full of fiber, so they make a very healthy addition to any weight loss shake. Apart from that, the frozen peaches, almond milk ripe banana and the Greek yogurt deliver a satiating breakfast really quick. The banana adds that much needed nutritional punch with its plethora of nutrients. Also, the protein content of this shake is really high; when you have more protein; you are full for longer hours.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups of peeled and diced, frozen peaches
1 cup almond coconut milk blend or pure almond milk
1 (5.3 oz.) Greek yogurt – mango, peach, strawberry or coconut
1 ripe banana, peeled and frozen
1/2 cup oats
1/2 cup of cold water
Method

Combine all the ingredients in a blender and blend until well pureed. Serve immediately.

How To Eat a Balanced Diet?

Now that you are aware of the fact that a balanced diet is needed to keep you energized throughout the day, let us look at the type of food to be included in your diet to keep you energized. Before, we get into the details; here is a quick overview on what your diet must ideally comprise:

600 calories of carbohydrates per day – potato, yam, rice, and tapioca are known to be rich source of carbohydrates

300 calories of proteins per day – you must consume egg, milk and meat high in protein, such as chicken breast for sufficient protein
4% of omega-6 fatty acid – avoid consuming vegetable seed oil and instead consume coconut oil and meats such as beef, lamb, fish and shellfish low in Omega-6

Saturated and monounsaturated fats – fish, shellfish, beef, lamb and dairy products are known to be the best animal sources, while coconut oil and coconut milk are best plant sources of saturated and monounsaturated fat. These fats are known to be healthy in nature and can be consumed in high levels
Paleo diet – remember to consume high fiber diet such as fruits and berries to produce gut bacteria healthy for the body

What Type of Food Should You Include In Your Diet?

Our body receives energy from macronutrients, and we get them from food rich in carbohydrates, proteins and fat. Macronutrients are chemical compounds that humans consume in large quantities to get energy. So remember to include food rich in protein, carbohydrates and fat in your daily diet.

Animal sources are a rich source of protein, carbohydrates and fat

To help you understand the kind of food that you can consume regularly, we are enlisting the levels of macronutrient-bearing food. Level 1 to Level 2 represents food that is rich in macronutrients and can be consumed more than 5 days a week for energy.

Level 3 to Level 5 may not really be good sources of macronutrients, but are essential in terms of getting micronutrients. Foods that belong from Level 6 to Level 7 should be avoided if possible as they usually have a high content of natural toxins.

But Plant Sources Are Not Far Behind

Ketonut Icecream (Keto+coconut)

Life is bland and sepia-tinged without ice-creams! Well, at least for me, if I am on the point of emotional breakdown, an ice-cream can be my knight in shining armor! You can have icecreams on keto, but yes not the store-bought ones. Well, if you get a keto ice-cream in store minus nasty ingredients, do let me know; but for the time being, this one caters to your ice cream craving like a boss!

Nutrition Information (per serving)

Serves: 4

Calories: 234

Ingredients:

1 can of 400ml coconut milk
2 full tablespoons of Stevia powder (or your favorite keto sweetener)
2 tbsp. (30 ml) of coconut oil
Choose some fresh flavors –

For the creamy fresh avocado:

1/2 Cup (75g) of fresh avocado

For mint and vanilla ice cream:

2 tsp. Vanilla Extract, 2 tsp. Mint Extract

For dark chocolate:

4 squares of 85% + dark chocolate

Method

Pour frozen coconut milk into a bowl (the frozen milk thickens the consistency)
Pour 2 tbsp. of coconut oil into the bowl. This adds taste and texture to the ice cream without it looking like a frozen block.
Add the sweetener.
Add the flavor If you are going for the dark chocolate version, melt the dark chocolate in a microwave. If the avocado is your thing, mash ‘em up and blend well.
Blend, blend, blend and mix all the ingredients until you get a smooth and ice-creamy texture.
Refrigerate it in the freezer until ready to eat. This hardly takes more than an hour to set.
Toppings:

You can give your humble pasta a healthy makeover with the addition of broccoli. Broccoli is said to be one of the healthiest foods on planet Earth, so even if you think having a salad with broccoli is not your idea of tasty food, how about adding your favorite pasta to it?

1/2pound whole-grain spaghetti
2bunches broccoli, cut into florets
1bell pepper, sliced
2cloves garlic, sliced
1/4cup olive oil
Kosher salt and black pepper
1/4cup chopped roasted almonds
2 ounces Feta, crumbled (1/2 cup)
Method:

Heat the oven to 450° F. Cook the pasta according to the package directions. Reserve ¼ cup of the cooking water; drain the pasta and return it to the pot.

Dark Chocolate Biscuit

You always need a chocolate biscuit to nibble on with your hot beverages, but restrain yourself as it is not considered very healthy. But what if you make a healthy batch of your own chocolate biscuits? Nothing is more satisfying than biting into a crunchy chocolate biscuit where all the ingredients are super healthy and need we add, tasty too!

Ingredients:

9.5 ounces whole-wheat flour (about 2 cups)
2 tablespoons flaxseed
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup packed dark brown sugar
2 large egg whites
1 large egg
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2/3 cup dark chocolate chips (such as Hershey’s)
3/4 cup unsalted almonds
Procedure:

Preheat oven to 350°.

Weigh or pour flour into dry measuring cups; level it up with a knife. Add flour, flaxseed, soda, and salt into a bowl, and stir briskly. Combine sugars, egg whites, and egg in a bowl; beat it up with a mixer at high speed for 2 minutes. Add vanilla and blend well. Add flour mixture to egg mixture; stir until combined. Add in the chocolate and almonds. Divide dough into 3 equal portions. Roll each portion into a 6-inch-long roll. Arrange the rolls 3 inches apart on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. It should have a 1-inch thickness. Bake at about 350° for 28 minutes or until it is firm.

Separate rolls from the baking sheet; let it cool on a wire-rack. Cut the rolls diagonally into 30 (1/2-inch) slices. Place on baking sheet, cut sides down. Reduce oven temperature to 325°; bake for 7 minutes. Turn the cookies over; bake for 7 minutes. The cookies will be soft in the center, so leave them to cool and they will harden up. Combo Veg Franky

This is one of the most simple and healthy recipes that are considered to be every Mother’s favorite, as it gives basic minerals and proteins required for the children. It is a natural protein food that is also loaded with vitamins and minerals and is loved by the whole family.

Ingredients:

Garlic: finely chopped 1TspVeg-Frankie

Finely chopped onions-1 cup

Sliced capsicum-1/4 cup

Cauliflower florets-1/2 cup

Bean sprouts- 1 cup

Carrot-1/4 cup

Corn flour -2 tablespoons

Salt and freshly ground black pepper powder to taste

2 tbsp. chili sauce

4 whole wheat chapattis

3 tsp. oil for cooking

Preparation:

Heat the oil in a frying pan. When heated add the garlic and fry them into golden color. Add onions to it and do the same. Now add some of the cauliflower, capsicum, bean sprouts, and carrots, cook them on medium flame for a few minutes and check them frequently if they are cooking well. Now make a corn flour paste by adding 2tsp of it to ½ cup of water. Mix it well without lumps and add it to the cooking vegetable mix. Add salt, pepper, sugar (optional) according to your taste and put it aside.

Now take the chapattis on the flat pan. Heat it by adding few drops of oil on both the sides, till its golden brown. Put the vegetable mix on the chapattis and roll it up tightly.

Note: You can include all the vegetables to make it more healthy and tasty.
