✨ Updates from the World Trichology Conference 2025 (NYC) ✨
The event has passed, but the science continues to inspire us. Here are some of the most important updates in the field of hair + scalp health:
1. Alopecia Areata
The newest frontier is JAK inhibitors. These targeted medications can be used in children and even in severe, long-standing cases. For many patients who had almost lost hope, this offers a new chance for regrowth.
2. Pattern Hair Loss (Androgenetic Alopecia)
While we don’t yet have new FDA-approved medicines, several promising drugs are in development and may arrive in the next years.
For now, one new innovation comes from Korea: , a cosmetic product designed to target the gene that drives hair miniaturization. Not a prescription drug, but an exciting cosmetic advance that may complement medical treatments.
For women, especially, treatment remains challenging since many current therapies were originally designed for men — and this makes new options even more important.
3. Seborrheic Dermatitis
Beyond hair loss, scalp health also matters. We now have Zoryve, a non-steroidal prescription cream, as well as new over-the-counter shampoos from and , offering gentler long-term care for dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis.
