We hope everyone has a peaceful Memorial Day of remembrance.

Memorial Day for many people is a day of remembrance for those lost in wars. But for others of us it can just be a day for remembering loved ones who have passed. At NYSH we have our favorite famous grief remedies including...
Natrum muriaticum, Ignatia, Aconite and Arnica can all be very useful both in the short term as well as years later, if someone still feels overwhelmed by grief. A simple differentiation is that Nat mur is good for that quiet grief that gets held in and is kept private, and Ignatia is useful for that rather expressive, emotional kind of grief with a continuing feeling of disbelief that the loved one has passed. Also useful is Aconite for the kind of grief that leaves one in a state of anxiety and often is expressed with shaking and trembling, or even Arnica for those folks who think they are ok but are not, and are in a rather stunned state. Any homeopathic remember can be used as a grief remedy with the best choice remedy being one’s own Simillimum!

Ever since I can remember, I have always been mesmerized by butterflies - their beauty, lightness, and embodiment of ultimate transformation.

Now, as a student of homeopathy, I am even more intrigued. When I saw this monarch on my walk last week, I wondered what it may be like as a remedy. How unique would it be, in comparison to other insect remedies?

It turns out, that there’s a remedy made from the monarch butterfly called Danaus plexippus. I wonder if there’s a proving?

I’m curious about the type of person who would benefit from a butterfly remedy. Would they be flighty? Ever-moving, ever-changing? What would their dreams be like? How might their fears be expressed?

I’m interested in doing some research to see what comes up in a proving - if there is one. More to come!
