Some thoughts & curiosities about then upcoming program:
“I am particularly interested in how the environment shapes creative practices, as well as in questions of materials’ reinvention/reuse and their interrelation with resilience.
These observations will be valuable to both my research and creative practice, and I hope they will also inform the intersection between the two, enriching each with perspectives grounded in lived, collective experiences.“ - Efstathia Dionysopoulou, Greece/Netherlands
“I’m curious to learn from individuals who are invested in addressing mental health in art and how to navigate between the role of therapist and artist.
I’m also curious about new ways to think about space and landscape in relation to mental health.” - Geraldine Kang, Singapore
“I’m curious how the people, history, and landscape of Kuldīga will shape the way I create and connect. I’m excited to be in dialogue with others who are navigating the overlaps between art, care, and ecology.
What new patterns, insights, or questions will surface through shared time, materials, and space?“ - Michelle Cohn, USA
“I’m interested in this residency for two main reasons: professional growth as a mental health professional and personal development as a creator.“ - Jelizaveta Krotova, Lithuania
