Yayyyyy issa Yoga Wheel Wednesdays!!!

Today we're getting into the Gate Pose Wheel or Parighasana Wheel. We are going to stretch the side of the body from the hips and hamstrings to the arm. We are going to open our hearts and reduce neck and shoulder tension. This allows us to breathe intentionally.

The week goes by so fast I can't believe it's already Yoga Wheel Wednesdays!!!

Today we're getting into a variation of the Supported Side Plank Pose Wheel. This time, we're going to glide the knee that is closer to the sky/ceiling up far enough to be able to plant the sole of our foot onto the side of the balancing leg. This definitely improves your balance and strengthens the core and back. If you want to kick it up a notch, you can straighten the bent knee, extending the leg up towards the sky/ceiling.

I know how it feels when anticipation and excitement drive you so stir crazy, that it makes you become very impatient. Trust and believe that good things come to those who wait. Now I know the other day I was talking about "Just Start" and stop waiting for the perfect time, however, there is a difference between procrastination and doing a rush job.
So yes, be consistent, be courageous, and show yourself grace! You got this, friend!

The week goes by so fast I can't believe it's already Yoga Wheel Wednesdays!!!

Today we're getting into the Supported Side Plank Pose Wheel or Salamba Vasisthasana Hip Wheel. They say this is a beginner pose, but if you feel tension on your wrist or if you feel like the pose creates a lot of tension on your legs, try removing the wheel then balance on the forearm instead of the wrist, and/or bend the knee that is closer to the mat then lower it on to the mat. This pose targets the arms, shoulders, wrist, and core. So if you feel a little tension in your core, you're doing good! Just breathe through it. Those who practice Power Yoga know what I mean πŸ˜‰

Have you ever thought about something in the past and wished you had reacted differently or expressed yourself in a better way. Well if you're perfect and live in a glasshouse, this post is not for you. However, through my yoga journey and just with growing pains and life experience, this quote resonates with me. I've learned to take a moment to process my experiences logically, express myself calmly, and give myself and others grace. We are only human and we make mistakes but the most important part that will reduce a lot of stressors in life is our reactions.

Today we're getting into another variation of the Half Splits Pose Wheel by adding a forward bend. With every inhalation, allow your heart to lower as close to the knee as your body allows, and breathe through this stretch. This pose targets the hips, hamstrings, and spine. Feel free to pad the knee with a pillow!
