再幾天就感恩節了，很感恩旅居紐約的台裔書畫藝術家Sinrong Chen （陳昕嶸）小姐慷慨提供了數幅水墨畫作品供我們掛在診所展示，讓診所增添了不少文藝深度與氣息。

Sinrong畢業於台北中國文化大學美術系，取得學士和碩士學位。除了20餘年來在台灣和美國與各年齡層的學生分享她的藝術和理念之外，她曾受邀在包括紐約大都會藝術博物館(Metropolitan Museum of Art)、哈蒙德博物館(Hammond Museum)、JCCMW和北威徹斯特中文學校在內的多家機構舉辦工作坊，透過她的課程和工作坊激發參與者的創造力，將人們與傳統藝術形式連結，並鼓勵大眾更深入的欣賞亞洲書法和水墨畫之美。

Thanksgiving is coming, and we are incredibly grateful to Sinrong Chen, a Taiwanese-American artist specializing calligraphy, painting, and watercolor, for generously providing several exquisite watercolor paintings for us to display in our clinic. The clinic is now filled with an artistic atmosphere that blends classic and modern elements.

Sinrong earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Department of Fine Arts at Chinese Culture University in Taipei, TAIWAN. In addition to sharing her art and philosophy with students of all ages in Taiwan and the United States for over 20 years, she has been invited to conduct workshops at numerous institutions, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Hammond Museum, JCCMW, and the North Westchester Chinese School. Through her courses and workshops, she inspires participants' creativity, connects people with traditional art forms, and encourages a deeper appreciation of the beauty of Asian calligraphy and watercolor painting.

林伯欣醫師的學術著作已於2025/10/1由東大圖書出版「修訂二版」，謝謝三民書局長年支持學術斯文的美意。

【修訂二版序】

〈雜病的世界，我們需要經典〉

這個世界快速變動的樣貌，猶如臨床所見疾病的多元型態。時代的演進帶來觀點與論述的修整、流變與擴展，科技的革命與翻新也為人類生活所需創造了前所未有的便利；然而這些舒適與進步，並沒有為生命健康帶來同步成長。對醫者而言，臨床上所見卻是更多複雜奇特樣貌的身心交錯失衡同步出現，想以過往各種相對單純簡單的臆測與鑑別診斷為病患做診治的決定，已屬難得。取而代之的是長期醞釀、多種病因、及繁瑣病機共同組合而成的雜病世界，並已快速成為近十年來中醫師臨床執業的普遍日常。

從世界衛生組織(WHO) 的官網中可以看到，近十年來世界上重要的公衛事件里程碑涉獵甚廣：如人口政策、各類傳染病及後遺症防治、健康永續發展、藥物議題、地域性疾病治療、婦幼青少年健康、地球村概念下的衛生健康合作議題等。當然，也包括2019 年底開始的Covid 19 全球大流行事件，而這應該也是上述記錄中十年來唯一有大量中醫藥專業介入、且對損害控制確實有所助益的世界級醫療大事。

古典中醫學究竟是否還適合現代人所需？歷代經典與各類文本又當如何親近、取捨、轉譯、順利實用於當代？這應該是胸懷抱負的現代中醫師最困擾、但也最渴望獲得答案的問題。臺灣社會在Covid 19 事件中，透過世界一流的防疫措施與綿密的基層醫療網，得以有效控制疫情傳播；中醫藥專業的實際參與，除了協助防止疫情蔓延、讓病患縮短復原時間及減少各類後遺症之外，也成為安定人心的重要力量之一。古典中醫學「以古鑑今、與時俱進」的特質在這次事件中公開被檢驗，也成功證明其理論與技術並非是無法再現與缺乏證據的鄉野傳說。

身心雜病蔓延的世界，需要經典給予指引與啟發。古典中醫的基石在經典，無論是循跡運用、還是突破創新，莫不以此為起點。研讀經典的目的，在於累積前人知識經驗，並從中熟悉各類原則、規範、條件、與操作型定義；當掌握各種論述分別得以成立的條件時，古典中醫學從理論到實踐，即成為有法可據、有跡可尋的道理。掌握了方法學，中醫才能脫離「以經驗對號入座與碰運氣」的偏差印象，得以靈活變化應用在各種複雜繁瑣的生命現象中。古典中醫學的理論並非用來鎖定臨床實做的唯一標準答案，也不為了提供特定的僵化治療方式，而是透過增加醫者腦中資料庫與臨床思維的背景知識，得以於臨診中協助觸類旁通、舉一反三。越是亂無章法的待解病證，越需要細膩多元的診治能力；越是繁複難解的臨床議題，越需要累積與熟悉歷代重要的典籍文本。正如日本江戶時代醫家內藤希哲主張「五經一貫」的論述，《明堂經》、《內經》、《難經》、《本草經》、及《金匱玉函經》乃醫之五經，當需熟讀精思，以得醫道一貫之本旨，再讀歷朝諸書及臨病診治時，心中自能瞭瞭如辨水火、得其十全之功。「離開臨床無醫學」，古典中醫學於文化、學術、思想、技術的傳承與起用並非單靠文獻的保存與整理，還需要將其實踐於人。然而現代潮流趨勢與研究思維的時代性隔閡迫使許多原有精華淪為「古為常識、今成無稽」的局面，實在可惜。義和團式的鼓吹或排斥中醫經典、兩極化的成見都將讓現代人一再錯失前人的智慧。

拙作《痛史：古典中醫的生命論述》出版已將屆滿十二年，很榮幸有機會即將再版。在淺碟與迷你化訊息氾濫的時代，長文沉浸式的閱讀已成為相對小眾的人類行為，這類較為冷門專業的出版品能持續存在實屬不易。我相信這是出版社支持學術斯文的美意，也得以讓筆者宣揚古典中醫學的熱情再次延續，十分感謝。

里仁紐約分店（悅意心田）重新開幕了！！

我們還在台灣的時候，診所隔壁就是里仁，患者最喜歡在候診空檔去隔壁逛逛，尤其有小朋友的家庭，來看診順便可以買到一些安心又可口的零食，應該是看診之外的小確幸！

看診時若遇到飲食不當的患者，我們在診療之餘，也常推薦里仁就買得到的健康好食材，讓患者回去能輔助調整飲食。

而我們自己更是最大的受惠者，每天下診走到隔壁，就可以採買有機安全的各種食物回家煮食。里仁實在可以說是「惠我良多」的最好鄰居！

離開台灣來到美國，第一次發現紐約這裡就有里仁時，真的超級感動，沒想到離家萬里，還能吃到來自故鄉的米、故鄉的油、各種過去熟悉的零食點心、習慣烹煮的乾貨......，除了一如過去的安心之外，更比在台灣時多了很多感恩！

沒想到今天更幸運地，紐約里仁（悅意心田）在我們診所斜對面開了分店（連門牌號碼前三碼都一樣呢），從今以後我們（及我們的患者）又可以像以前在台灣一樣，享受著有這樣好鄰居的便利！

我們帶著感謝的心情，自發性的誠心推薦大家有空到Flushing來的時候，可以逛逛紐約里仁悅意心田的總店或分店。

由於未來兩週是聖誕節及新年假期，2020/12/21-2021/1/3間，我們的門診時間略有異動：

正常門診（9：00-17：00）：12/21，12/22，12/23，12/31，1/2。

上午預約診（9：00-13：00，需提前預約）：12/24，12/26，1/1。

全天休假日（含週日）：12/25，12/27，12/28，12/29，12/30，1/3。

Since the Christmas and New Year holidays are coming in the next two weeks, our open hours are changed from December 21st, 2020 to January 3rd, 2021:

Normal open hour (9:00-17:00): 12/21, 12/22, 12/23, 12/31, 1/2.

Only morning appointment (9:00-13:00, reservation required): 12/24, 12/26, 1/1.

Full day off (including Sunday): 12/25, 12/27, 12/28, 12/29, 12/30, 1/3.
