FIP can be divided into two types: wet and dry, and can be divided into three stages: early, middle, and late. Different stages may have different manifestations!
early symptom:
①There is a decrease in appetite, which does not have a significant impact
②The mental state is obviously not as good as before, but the cat still interacts with its owner
③Continuously feverish, with body temperature rising above 39.5 ℃, measurement will be more accurate at dusk and night
④The abdominal circumference can be seen gradually increasing
⑤Weight loss will be obvious when touching the back
Mid-term symptoms:
①Appetite significantly decreases, and there is a basic lack of food consumption (mild cases may consume a small amount of canned cat strips, while severe cases may result in direct refusal to eat or drink)
②The weight has significantly decreased, and bones can be touched by hand on the back.
③Abdominal distension is obvious, showing bilateral bulging (wet)
④Cat's ears, skin, and visible mucosa turn yellow (jaundice), and urine is very yellow (high inflammation)
⑤Reduced skin elasticity and dry hair
⑥Possible occurrence of soft stools/stool particles, vomiting
Late stage symptoms:
①Eye lesions (iris lesions)
At the initial stage, there will be blinking tears and Uveitis. Gradually, the pupils will become different in size, blurred, and some will have discoloration and secretion
②Neurological disorders (motor disorders)
Unstable walking, poor balance, inability to walk in a straight line, severe spasms, convulsions, and hindlimb movement disorders
