🍃 NYC in September: gridlock traffic, “almost” fall-like days …(then hot and humid 😫) jam-packed sports weekends…and the start of miscellaneous sniffles has all questioning: is it a cold, is it C0v1D, is it allergies?? How can anyone tell 🤦🏼‍♀️??

Well, sniffling 😪 coughing 🫢 watery 🥲 or crusty eyes, dry patches 🧴. Fall allergies 🤧 🍃🍂 ARE in full swing so let’s find out more! We have answers! ⬇️

Happy “Sunny” Friday ☀️🍎🏙️ Let’s get right to this week’s update so we can all enjoy this beautiful weekend!

Here’s what’s hot on the sick list this week:

☀️ Lots of colds
☀️ Croup is still in the air
☀️ A bit of stomach virus

💉Our first flu clinic is tonight (Friday, 9/19) from 6-8PM and tomorrow (Saturday, 9/20) from 1-4 PM.

💉 We hope to lots of our families there so everyone can stay as healthy as possible this winter ❄️

Happy September MVP families & friends! If you’re a local patient and family —you know the first two days of public school are filled with forms and adjustments.

❓How’s everyone’s tweens & teens adjusting to the new state mandate 📵of the .yondr pouches or other methods of eliminating cell phone & internet use during the school day?

Here’s what’s happening in the office:

📘No one’s friend “Strep” is going around

📘Still seeing impetigo (skin infections)

📘Unfortunately we’re also seeing stomach viruses 🤮🤢💩

📘And bacterial pink eye 👁️ —different from viral in that we’ll see yellow and green sticky discharge from the eye, eyes are often itchy and swollen. If you see this yellow & green junk, call us for treatment.

📘We’re also VERY busy with camp, school, physical & medical forms. Please plan accordingly and get those done ASAP ✅

Coming up:

📚Next week our staff is participating in a “Back to School Spirit Week 📚” so stay tuned for fun photos and expect some creative outfits if you’re visiting the office next week 🥳🤗

Happy Friday & Labor Day Weekend friends & family! ❤️🤍💙

Here’s what’s happening in the office:

We are seeing a lot of impetigo —this is caused by bacteria, primarily Staphylococcus aureus and Streptococcus pyogenes, which enter the skin through cuts, scrapes, or insect bites.

So naturally we’re seeing lots of 🦟🕷️🐜 bug bites, too

And…stomach/gastrointestinal issues 🤢🤮💩

are back in session next Thursday which means whether you’re a private, parochial or public school family —we’re shifting our focus to “back to school” so a few reminders:

Please make sure your child’s school has an or equivalent for allergic reactions.

Need refills on these important items or other medications, give us a call

Start your back to school routine a few days before school starts to get kids back into the swing of things—so while we will enjoy the long weekend, too. Monday night is great time to get back to work/school routine.

Stay tuned for a very busy fall 🍂🍁at MVP complete with some fun things, things to learn and more Lives and in-person events!
