๐ฆทHappy National Tooth Fairy Day!๐ฆท Losing baby teeth is an exciting milestone for kids, their parents and caregivers! Children have 20 baby teeth that will fall out over the span of their developmental years. Most children start losing their front baby teeth around age 6, although age can vary. Donโt be concerned if your child doesn't experience this at the same age as other kids , itโs normal to have variations in development. Consult with dentists like us if you are concerned about the timing.
Wiggling loose teeth is encouraged but don't use any dramatic techniques to take the tooth out for them. It may take months for an adult tooth to come in. The adult tooth may be less straight and less white than the baby tooth. Help your kids feel ok with this transition. Keep track and schedule your children for their routine cleanings and dental exams!
Age 6 is an important developmental age for teeth. Your child is starting to lose their front teeth and their 6 year molars (permanent) are starting to erupt behind the baby molars!ย Taking care of baby teeth is a fundamental step toward healthy adult teeth. Supervision during oral care at home is especially important when kids are developing skills to brush and floss on their own. Healthy habits start early so be a part of their healthy decisions daily.
