I’ve done a lot of interviews, but I have to say this one was perhaps the most fun. Big thanks to and for the opportunity to talk about all things adult acne on their amazing podcast . Run, don’t walk, over to their website to listen! (Plus, I know all of my videos here are pretty direct and clinical, but I got a little loosey-goosey chatting with these amazing hosts. I’ll admit I threw in a couple of jokes that you might not have expected from me based on my feed!).
So to hear a little bit of the real Dr. Z and to learn a lot about acne, check out the podcast.
Oh, and made her debut on the pod also!

It’s good to be back! Here’s a view from the podium at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology meeting, where I chaired the Acne Boot Camp course. We had a packed room of Derms who were just as excited to be back to a live meeting as I am. (The smiles and waves don’t lie!) Over 50 million Americans suffer from acne every year. With a panel of other acne key opinion leaders, we were able to educate on the latest data on topical and oral medications to give our acne patients the best outcomes possible!.

Skincare from A to Dr Z: G is for window Glass, which does not protect you from UV light. So even if you are sitting in your car or near a window at work, you’re still at risk for sun damage. That’s why it’s important to wear sunscreen on a regular basis, not just when you’re going to the beach!.

Skincare from A Dr Z: S is for Sunscreen re-application over makeup. This is a question I get from my female patients on a daily basis. They know they need to reapply, but they don’t want to mess up their make up. I may not wear make up myself, but here’s the best advice I can give from speaking to patients, makeup artists, and beauty editors friend and colleagues.

Skincare from A to Dr Z: E is for exfoliation. Are you exfoliating your skin the right way? Over exfoliating can actually be harmful and may lead to irritation, dryness and inflammation.

Skincare from A to Dr Z: A is for acne treatment mistakes! Are you just spot treating your pimples? It’s far better to prevent new pimples from developing than to constantly be trying to get rid of ones that are already there. Here’s what you need to know if you are experiencing breakouts.

Skincare from A to Dr Z: S is for skin cancer. May is skin cancer awareness month, so I am teaming up with you the American Academy of Dermatology to tell you what you need to know. Most people think it’s not going to happen to them, but skin cancer is the #1 form of cancer in the United States. UV light exposure from the sun is the single biggest risk factor for developing skin cancer, but guess what? You can prevent sun damage and lower your skin cancer risk just by wearing sunscreen, sitting in the shade, and wearing sun protective clothing, hats, and glasses.

Skincare from A to Dr Z: C is for collagen creams. Does applying collagen topically to the skin actually help treat wrinkles and help our skin make new collagen? Here’s what you need to know before you believe every marketing claims that seem too good to be true.
