During these extraordinary times, we at Ophthalmology Associates of Bay Ridge realized that we have many patients that require continuous uninterrupted eye care for conditions such as macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease, corneal infections, and many other emergent eye conditions. Because of this, we have remained OPEN during the Coronavirus pandemic, with the goal of providing essential eye care in an environment safe for our staff, doctors and patients. Early on we had our practice building terminally cleaned. We required the wearing of masks for staff and patients alike. We screened patients for Coronavirus symptoms during the appointment confirmation phone call and upon entry into our building. We enforced social distancing in the waiting room and practiced enhanced disinfection procedures in the examination rooms between patients.
These measures have allowed us to operate safely for over 2 months now. We are happy to report that efforts have paid off: our office and staff have been Coronavirus-free as we provided essential continuous eye care to our beloved patients in the Bay Ridge community.
Our dedicated staff have come to work every day under the most extraordinary circumstances, with loved ones falling ill, children out of school requiring attention, risking infection, financial challenges etc. They deserve a mountain of credit for their efforts in keeping our practice open and available for our patients in this time of crisis.
We are looking forward to a better future when things return to normal, but in the meantime we will continue to provide excellent eye care in a safe environment. We thank our patients for their cooperation with our enhanced safety procedures as well.
God Bless and Stay Safe,
