I specialize in helping people dealing with anxiety, depression, OCD or other mood disorders that are interfering with functioning. I enjoy helping people learn to overcome symptoms which are getting in the way of their leading happy lives. I work with a diversity of people and am particularly familiar with persons in the legal profession (I worked in this industry for over 30 years), the LGBTQ community, the performing arts community and with people in the recovery process. I also enjoy working with people who are going through transitions and want support for making changes in their lives. Cognitive behavioral treatment and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy gives you tools to help you manage your symptoms and to become mindful of self defeating thoughts and behaviors which are getting in your way. You will learn to observe yourself and become your own therapist. Cognitive behavioral therapy can work relatively quickly to provide relief from damaging symptoms of depression and anxiety. This therapy is shorter term in duration than psychoanalytical treatment and is evidenced-based.
