Ohel’s 56th Annual Gala was a night to remember—a night of vulnerability, courage, and deep connection.

We heard the stories that make Ohel who we are:

& Gabe Safier, beloved brothers and advocates whose love inspires millions online, received Ohel’s Champions Award. Gabe, who thrives in Ohel’s DayHab program, celebrated alongside his devoted staff and friends.

Brendan Gallagher, Northeast Regional President at , accepted the Corporate Honoree Award—a powerful symbol of the meaningful partnership between Ohel and Gallagher Insurance.

Jesse Wright, Project Manager for our CCSA program, shared his personal journey with addiction and his mission to educate students with honesty and heart.

Bina and Avrumy Mendlowitz, recipients of the Breaking Barriers Award, bravely shared the story of their beloved son Shimon A”H. By speaking openly about his su***de, they are breaking the silence around mental health and reminding us all that no family is alone.

The night was uplifted by moving performances from and , and concluded in celebration as we marked the Sheva Brachot of Shmeeli and Sheva Mendlowitz.

The stories we tell—of pain, of growth, of love—have the power to heal, to connect, and to transform. Ohel’s 56th Annual Gala proved just that.

Ohel’s 56th Annual Gala will be a night to honor the courage it takes to speak out—and the power of a story to change lives.

Jesse Wright, a presenter for Ohel’s CCSA (Communities Confronting Substance Use and Addiction) program, brings a voice of lived experience into Jewish classrooms, helping students understand addiction and recovery from those who’ve walked the path.

We are deeply honored that Jesse will be sharing his journey at this year’s Gala—one of resilience, hope, and the strength to heal.
