Are you...

+ Feeling Tense or On Edge: Constantly bracing yourself for what’s next, feeling tension in the body, and rarely experiencing a sense of ease.

+ Experiencing Emotional Numbness: Disconnecting from emotions because it feels safer to keep pushing through.

+ Losing Connection with Self: Feeling that your identity is tied to being “strong” for others, without space to explore your own needs and desires.

It could be resilience fatigue.

For Strong Black Women, resilience has often meant surviving in a world that doesn’t always recognize our humanity.

This pressure to endure can be exhausting and disconnects us from our bodies and true needs; and resilience fatigue happens when we’re constantly expected to push through everything, to “be strong” no matter the cost.

If you're interested in having a different experience, this offering might be for you.

Dear Strong Black Woman,

When you pause, even for a few breaths, you create space for your nervous system to find it's way back to presence. Today, in service of your peace, give yourself compassionate permission to pause and just be.

Well-being is often found in the small, everyday choices we make.

When we decide to take a deep breath before responding to that email. When we pause for just a moment longer in the shower because the warm water feels good.

These little moments of choosing well-being are powerful. They remind your body that it’s safe, that you deserve care, that even in the midst of life’s challenges, there is space for ease.

Practice being present in your body, in the small ways that add up to something big.

What’s one small thing you can do for your well-being today? Let’s inspire each other in the comments!

So often, we feel the need to ‘figure out’ healing with our minds. But healing is a whole-body experience, and your body already knows the way.

Think about the last time your body asked for rest or sent you a signal to slow down—maybe it was a tightness in your shoulders or an ache in your back. These are all ways your body speaks, asking for space to heal.

The problem is, we often ignore these signs in favor of pushing through.

Today, I’m encouraging you to listen. What is your body telling you right now?

Take a deep breath, pause, and tune in. Your body has wisdom to share, and it’s always guiding you toward healing.

If you’re ready to explore this more intentionally, my 1:1 wellness sessions offer a safe space to connect with your body’s natural intelligence. Start Here:

We’re often taught to think in black and white—either we’re doing great, or we’re struggling. Either we’re strong, or we’re vulnerable.

But real life is both/and.

You can have challenges and still create moments of ease. You can feel tired, frustrated, or overwhelmed, and still make space for joy or rest.

Life is rarely one thing at a time. When we give ourselves permission to hold both, we find new strength.

Want to take this practice deeper? My 1:1 sessions are designed to help you explore these dualities through movement, breath, and reflection. Book here: https://tinyurl.com/3vu2h8rc

We’ve been conditioned to believe that we have to choose between feeling safe and pursuing growth.

As Black women, we’re often in situations where we need to protect ourselves from harm or exhaustion, while also wanting to step into our full potential.

But what if I told you that you don’t have to choose? Safety and growth can coexist. It’s okay to slow down when you need to feel grounded. It’s also okay to expand when you’re ready to reach for more.

Your body naturally understands this balance.

We often carry more than we realize—whether it’s stress from work, caregiving responsibilities, or the weight of being ‘strong’ all the time.

Our bodies hold onto that tension in ways we can’t always see or feel, and it can build up until we feel exhausted, tight, or even overwhelmed.

But here’s the beautiful truth: your body is designed to release.

Just like your heart beats and your lungs breathe without you thinking about it, your body knows how to let go—if you give it the space and permission.

Today, let’s practice creating that space. Whether it’s through a deep breath, gentle movement, or even a mindful pause, trust your body’s wisdom to help you release tension and invite ease.

The Strong Black Woman stereotype is a survival strategy passed down through generations. It was born out of a need for survival, but carrying this armor can come at a cost.

The belief that you have to be everything to everyone, without asking for help, may feel protective, but it leaves little room for rest, care, or vulnerability. Your wellness is sacrificed.

It’s okay to choose rest. It’s okay to care for yourself. You are worthy of softness.

🌿 Consider this: What’s one small thing you could let go of today?

Something manageable, where the risk of asking for help feels less overwhelming. Observe how it feels—not only to ask but to receive.

It’s often said that it takes seven generations to heal from generational trauma. We carry the weight of what our ancestors endured—not just in our hearts, but in our bodies. The tension, the fatigue, the feeling of constantly pushing through...these are the stories passed down through generations.

But here’s the hope: healing can continue with you. Every breath you take, every moment of care you offer your body, is a step toward breaking the cycle. Your healing doesn’t just stop with you—it echoes into the future, creating space for your descendants to live in bodies that are free, whole, and unburdened by the past.

If you’re ready to start this healing journey, my Navigating Oppression Mini Movement Guide offers practical tools and somatic practices to help you reconnect with your body, release generational patterns, and reclaim your sense of self: https://tinyurl.com/uvbc49rm

You have the power to create a new legacy—one of healing, rest, and freedom.
