Dr. Romita is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with over thirty years’ experience in the field of Mauro C.

Romita, MD is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with over twenty years' experience in the field of aesthetic and reconstructive plastic surgery of the face, breast and body, micro and cranio-facial surgery. Dr. Romita is known for the technical skill, training, and integrity that he brings to his patients and in his surgical practice. Following graduation from the University of Miami School of Medicine, Dr. Romita began his residency training at New York University Medical Center. He completed a comprehensive eight-year program in June of 1981, which included postgraduate fellowships in microsurgery and crainiofacial surgery. Dr. Romita is certifed by the American Boards of General Surgery and Plastic Surgery. Dr. Romita is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and numerous professional societies. He is also an Assistant Professor of Surgery at New York Medical College. Conveniently located on New York's exclusive Fifth Avenue, Dr. Romita's state-of-the-art surgical suite is a safe alternative to a hospital setting for most aesthetic procedures. More extensive surgery may also be performed at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary, St. Vincent's Hospital and Medical Center and New York Medical Center in Queens. Dr. Romita has helped pioneer a unique approach to reversing the aging process through keen appreciation of the synergy among medical disciplines. The guiding force of his approach is a concept called "sequential intervention," whereby the early signs of aging are corrected with less invasive techniques for as long as possible. Progressively more complex surgical enhancements are introduced only when they are necessary and when the benefits can be maximized. BBL - talk about WOW 🍑 Dr. Romita worked with this beautiful patient to achieve her desired outcome while using her own fat which was sterilized during a 360 Lipo procedure. 𝐅𝐚𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐞𝐫 - At her one-year followup, this beautiful patient is still loving her results after she chose the approach of 𝘍𝘢𝘵 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘧𝘦𝘳 to address the hollowing in her under-eye region. She had previously experienced severe reactions to Sculptra elsewhere that took over 8 months to correct. While there are other modalities to treating this area, utilizing a naturally occurring tissue like your own fat is the ideal way to achieve the safest and longest lasting result!

This beautiful patient came to see Dr Romita after having her procedure done abroad and shortly after realized that both the improper placement and incorrect implant size had caused a downward turn in the shape of her breasts. Breast asymmetries come in many forms, commonly overly large and painful breasts which can effect the quality of life for most women. In the March 2023 journal article from the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Medical Journal, recent studies have uncovered that many symptoms are much more dependent on the breast's position (droop) than the overall volume. Wile insurance companies have been misguided in insisting on coverage based on an overall volume removal or body weight to grams dependent diagnosis, this is now being challenged. We understand the physical implications thats come with these issues, we also are sensitive to the mental ramifications that can come along with not feeling like you look your best and Dr. Romita is here to help!

Fortunately, there are many new technologies in aesthetic and restorative breast surgery that allow an experienced breast surgeon to dramatically restore, shape, and balance painful, sagging breasts. These technologies include breast lifts, reductions, and or lift/augmentations and Dr. Romita has also mastered rebuilding the shape and projection, which can be improved with implants when applicable. The results seen can additionally be enhanced with the patient’s own fat (composite augmentation).
