I'm writing to see if you would join me on Sept 21st for a fun and important night celebrating the work of VOCAL-NY, a grassroots organization dedicated to ending the drug war, mass incarceration and AIDS epidemic here in NY (and still have time to be a leader on ending homelessness, racist policing and fighting for a fair economy).
In the last 5 years they have passed more state legislation than any other single group in the state, and they do it without lobbyists, but by putting the people directly impacted at the forefront of the fight. Sometimes through rallies and meetings, sometimes through direct action, but all the times winning.
And if that wasn't enough, they promise free booze, great music, and a great party kicking off right after the program.

As of Now... episode is free to watch on Youtube, as are all the other episodes from the initial batch that were filmed in the same timeframe between 2009 & 2011. ...From reaching 300,000 views this week, to respectfully objective and positive reviews, to countless messages of thanks and encouragement, to screenings in multiple countries with many more to come... you have all given our team more than enough reason to put forth our greatest effort to continue this series.
