Happy Makar Sankranti! โ˜€๏ธโ™‘๏ธ Today, the sun moves into Capricorn, marking a powerful shift in the cosmic calendar. -And, as a Capricorn goat gal ๐Ÿ˜‰I'm feel'n extra connected to this transition! ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ’ซ

In Vedic astrology, Capricorn (Makar) is a sign of discipline, focus, and spiritual growth. As the sun enters this earthy sign, we're invited to reflect on our intentions and take practical steps towards our goals.

This transition symbolizes a time for:
- Setting intentions and making plans
- Cultivating discipline and focus
- Honoring our inner light and spiritual path

May this Sankrati elevate your energy, thoughts, and destiny. Namaste~โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ

As I depart from the land of Buddha I do so having experienced how Buddha's teachings of loving-kindness have infused into the people of this land. It's no wonder the Nepalese are among the kindest, sweetest, and most courteous people in the world, embodying the spirit of Buddha.

They also happen to be amazing artisans, weavers, and craftspeople creating stunning works of art that reflect their devotion and talents. I couldn't help myself and brought myself a painting knowing I'd have to carry it through 4 more airports before making it onto my wall at home. Can't wait!

Of course, no talk of Nepal is complete without once and always, giving due credit to the grandeur of the Himalayas standing as a majestic testament to nature's power. Many have been so inspired that they have died trying to make to the top. As for me, from my vantage point, I've been inspired for all the rest of all my days. Bye bye Nepal๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’“ Next onto Dubai! โžก๏ธ

Found my calm in Kathmandu's Garden of Dreams. This wasn't "An American in Paris" but I had a tasty cup of "Americano" sitting next to a French trio. A lovely time spent in this serene oasis, and the perfect antidote to the city's hustle and bustle outside its doors.

Then, a must do when in Katmandu, (love saying that!) is to take in the cable car up to view the stunning panoramic views of the Kathmandu Valley and Himalayan ranges, including Annapurna, Langtang, and Everest.

Elevation I believe is about almost 10, 000 Ft.

Third world meets new, young and old coexist cars, pedestrians, dogs bikes, and life is moving it seems at super fast pace. -And scattered amidst it all, there's temples. Lots and lots of them.

I spent my first day visiting the world famous monkey temple, Patam Dunbar Square, The Hindu Temple, and the biggest (HUGE!) Buddha Stupa. At the end of the day I was exhausted. It's all catching up to me. I need sleep.

So a 5am wake up to catch a helicopter ride to Everest not only is questionable for me, but it turns out for them also, as this is winter and the off-season, that means there may not be enough people. If so, I'm Ok with that.

Since landing and among the chaotic pace the Himalayas majestically hugging the Kathmandu valley with Everest standing tall, has been a quiet reminder that nature's grandeur can often put the chaos into perspective. Subaratri ๐Ÿ˜ด Good night.

Flying into Kathmandu: a jaw-dropping surreal highlight! Caught Mt. Everest and the Himalayas peeking above the clouds - breathtaking! Then... touchdown,

The arrival into Kathmandu was a bit chaotic with loops and hoops I had to encounter, but that was but a prelude to what was waiting on the streets. Thankfully the owner of my Bed and Breakfast was the one who showed up to pick me up from the airport. Talk about hospitality! Thank you so much Keshab!

Once in the car and onto the streets, OMG! I was immediately swept away- if you're not watching it can be literal! The whirlwind of chaotic streets where vehicles, bikes, pedestrians, and dogs coexist in a sort of madness that can only really be navigated I believe, by those who were born here and must have inherited these super powers, including "simply" walking on the streets! I once and that was it. Everyone is out for themselves on these narrow, winding, streets. There seems to be a big street, but still, same rules apply- there are none!

Yet, with no rules and everyone out for themselves, there's a level of respect among it all. Suddenly pivoting to catch an opening in the traffic, short stopping, majorly cutting off the next guy, or gal ( kudos to these Nepalese female road ninjas) and weaving left and right, U-turns, one ways, two ways, and all ways, it's fair game, and no one gets angry or display the ill behavior we have at home for the smallest of infractions regardless who thinks they're in the right. I didn't video much of that as I was strapped in and holding on ๐Ÿ˜ฐ

So upon submitting to this challenging state of affairs, even for the nimblest of us, I had to no intention on testing it, and decided to get a driver. Yay Sanu Lama! He spoke very little English and that was OK with me. I just wanted to get where I wanted and back as safely as possible. Plus, even if I had some sense of direction having it would have made no difference there are no street signs nor well defined corners. How do they know where to meet?

So now that I got that out of the way, ( word to anxiety suffers just close your eyes ๐Ÿ˜ฑ) I was ready for Katmandu!

India truly envelops your every sense! Intoxicating each: sights, sounds, smells, the sheer chaos and beauty all swirling together into an unforgettable vibe.

As I depart, I'll bring the fondest of memories with me. India was so very much more than what I expected it to be. Ofcourse, topping it al off were its unbelievably beautiful people with an energy that warms the heart and captures your soul.

From my the drivers I encountered for getting me where I wanted, and even went out of their way to pivot as my enthusiasm dictated. ๐Ÿš—๐Ÿ’“........To my unforgettable guide in Agra who captivated me by turning my day into a fairy tale. He brought the romance of the Taj Mahal to life and made me feel like a queen - literally crowning me when he went above and beyond with a surprise birthday cake, musicians and all! His passion and dedication made visiting this Wonder of the World even more magical ๐Ÿ‘‘๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽถ๐Ÿ’......To the staff at TeraMD where I spent most of my time learning yogic philosophy, Ayurvedic medicine, indulging in a little Pancha Karma, and even learning how to cook some wholesome yumminess! ๐Ÿ“˜โœ๏ธ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ’“.......To the strangers I met along the way that added to the magical moments ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’•.....to the greatest gift of all, sent from above especially for me! From the moment we met, somehow I trusted him enough with all of it! He leveled up this trip in ways that I couldn't have imagined. The perfect adventure partner, the perfect buddy, the perfect gentleman. ๐Ÿ’๐Ÿ’ซ

Last but not least, I can not, not mention those other beings...The cows! ๐Ÿ„ The dogs! ๐Ÿ• The beautiful elephants! ๐Ÿ˜ -And some monkeys along the way, but I stayed away from them, thankfully they stayed away from me too! ๐Ÿ’

I've shared my India diaries, but know that words cannot begin to describe it all. Whether the opportunity to journey here, or sample the array of cuisine, or take up a yoga practice for the mind-body and spirit, I hope you too get an opportunity to be a student of all India has offered the world. ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ณ ๐ŸŒŽ Namaste ~ Next up, Nepal

Heads-up: Almost 15 min video, and even that wasn't enough. ๐Ÿ˜œ

Ahhh....The Haridwar Aarti! A super spiritual town near Rishikesh, on the Ganges River with its legendary evening Ganga Aarti ceremony . They say the Ganga Aarti in Haridwar is like nothing else! Too bad we missed it! ๐ŸคชBut no worries, by the time we got there the energy and the vibes were still palpable. ๐Ÿฅฐ

An Aarti is a ceremony where priests perform rituals at sunset, offering prayers to the Ganges River. Fire, flowers, and chants creating a mesmerizing atmosphere. Thankfully, I caught another one near the "Beatles Ashram" and it was, a spectacular scene to behold! ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿฅณ

Part 2- The world famous Ashram, Finally! When The Beatles visited Rishikesh, India in 1968, they sparked a Western interest in Eastern spirituality, particularly yoga. Their stay at the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi's ashram introduced meditation and yoga to a global audience, influencing counterculture and wellness movements. George Harrison and John Lennon deepened their practice, incorporating elements into their music. This exposure helped popularize yoga in the West, paving the way for future generations to explore its spiritual and physical benefits. Their visit remains a pivotal moment in yoga's global journey. ๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™‚๏ธ Today it's a relic of yesteryear, but one can only IMAGINE.

Riding off the beaten path up the mountain into the jungle to the "Secret Spring!" OMG such a beautiful serene place surrounded by nature at its best. This natural hot spring pond is believed to be the bathing site of Lord Rama during his exile, and where the confluence of the Ganges and Yamuna rivers meet to add to its sacredness.

If that wasn't magical enough, we met some super cool souls along the way and I think I might have even gotten married to one! At one point he just took his gold ring off his finger and gave it to me. That's marriage is it not?! Maybe not in their culture, but certainly there's no doubt that our energies bonded.

Truly a sacred secret place. From the spring, to its surroundings, to meeting the "fab four" coolest of cats, to having this wonderful adventure thanks to my Heaven-sent buddy, and his contagious energetic sense of adventure! I couldn't have planned this ahead of time even if I tried! Namaste ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผ
