Just reviewed this interesting paper for publication. I’m on the editorial panel for several top journals, which is an honor because I’m helping to determine which papers get published and which don’t. So I’m serving as a “gatekeeper” for what gets into the literature, and what doesn’t because it doesn’t look “real” or is unimportant. I wish Robert Kennedy Jr had more of a scientific background, because him & Trump saying vaccines or Tylenol causes autism is really junk science😱I’m also submitting my own research about the new Pneumo-LASEK technique that I invented 3 years ago with one of my premed interns & medical students. It’s very gratifying knowing that I’m contributing to the advancement of my field, and we’re all suitably proud, because most doctors never publish anything in their lifetime, because they’re followers, not leaders. I got this desire from my dad, who was Chief of Neuroradiology at St Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital & Clinical Professor of Radiology at Columbia Medical School, where I got my MD. I had the pleasure of publishing a paper with my father in the journal Radiology 30 years ago. We also started the Chynn Family Foundation together, and donated $100,000 to sponsor an award in perpetuity for radiology research at Columbia, and another $100,000 for a similar perpetual award with RSNA, Radiological Society of North America. Those awards will be part of dad’s legacy forever. And I suppose in some way, everything I’ve accomplished in medicine is also part of that legacy

I’m the only surgeon in the US specializing in treating nystagmus. 100% of my dozens of nystagmus patients are extremely satisfied with their results, including this nurse, who had typical results: much better vision, decreased nystagmus, greater self confidence, & a new life🙏🤗

Ira Bernstein just pled guilty to trying to hire a hitman to kill his wife a SECOND time within a year of release from jail for doing that before😱How much can you hate an ex—isn’t divorce enough?😭This is what his ex wife Susan said to the NY Post: “He hasn’t paid a penny of support money to me or the children since he pled guilty…while…we are living in a hell…Ira has been living with Kelly in the luxurious Montebello Pines and supporting his high-flying lifestyle…with trips to Florida, Broadway shows, steak & lobster dinners AND ELECTIVE EYE SURGERY”😂That’s LASEK, not LASIK👍I first heard about Ira’s “misadventure” when he didn’t show up for one of his postop visits; we called his cellphone & was told “Ira won’t be available FOR A FEW YEARS”😳The thing is, he was one of my nicer patients, & if the charge weren’t so serious, I would have been willing to serve as a character reference🤔Anyway, I wish him well, & hopefully this time will reform him and prevent recidivism. After all, in this case nobody would wish for the 3rd time to be the charm😝

It’s a sad day for us. Tolstoy, the best good boy in the world, was laid to rest on Monday in the comfort of his home. He was Dr Chynn’s best friend for 8years. He was very loved and we will miss him. His love will shine through our memories and in our hearts forever. RIP sweet Tolstoy
