Open seven days a week, CBWCHC accepts most major health insurance plans and offers comprehensive primary care services to children and adults, including Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Dental Care, Primary Eye Care, and Mental Health, across six locations in Manhattan and Queens. Open Enrollment for 2026 coverage runs until January 31, 2026, giving New Yorkers time to enroll in private health plans (QHP) for the new year. You can find various options, including dental, on the NY State of Health website (nystateofhealth.ny.gov), with assistance available if needed.

You are eligible to enroll in QHP if you are:
- A New York State resident
- A U.S. citizen or lawfully present non-citizen
- Under the age of 65
- Not eligible for Medicaid, Essential Plan, or Child Health Plus

Project AHEAD 2026 will take place from Monday, June 01, 2026 through Friday, August 07, 2026 and will be located in lower Manhattan.

The Charles B. Wang Community Health Center (CBWCHC) proudly celebrates and congratulates Betty K. Cheng, LCSW, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, as she prepares to retire at the start of 2026. For 30 years, Betty has devoted her passion, wisdom, and leadership to the Health Center and the community. She was instrumental in driving the Health Center’s expansion in Queens, broadening services to reach more underserved communities—work that now allows us to care for over 40,000 unique patients in Queens each year.

It has been a true honor to have Betty K. Cheng, LCSW, guide the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center for the past three decades. Her steadfast commitment to supporting frontline and support staff and championing underserved communities has shaped the very foundation of how we operate today. Betty has been a pillar of strength whose influence will be felt for many years to come. We are deeply grateful for all she has given to the Charles B. Wang Community Health Center. On behalf of the entire CBWCHC family, we wish her a joyful retirement and a healthy, fulfilling future ahead.
