This is just about as exciting as it gets for me! A wild plant magic salad - mainly from the garden 🌿

Nature never stops giving. She heals just by being in her presence, she showers us with extraordinary beauty and nourishes us if we know where to look!

Wandering around the garden this afternoon I found:
Wild spicy watercress
Dead nettle
Thyme
Oregano
Mint
Dandelions (lots of them)
Wild garlic mustard
Violets
Magnolia leaves

HEAVENLY!!! I tossed them all together with treasures from the Farmers Market and it was a powerhouse of taste and nourishment ✨🌿

So thankful for the garden 🌿✨🌿

What a Saturday!
I taught a cooking class - we made Pad Thai (amazing!!!) overnight chia oats with blueberries (yum) and the most deliciously healthy Quinoa salad you could imagine 🌿🌿🌿
In other news I’m amazed how beautiful a supermarket tulip can be! These pale pink and yellow ones are particularly gorgeous 🌸

Today was a BEAUTIFUL day! There was a “watch out it’s going to get hot in hurry” type of feeling in the air. After my cooking class I collapsed on the lounger outside and listened to the birds and felt the warmth of the sun - what a TREAT!!!

I took Malcolm for a couple of walks and enjoyed seeing the blossoms think about popping -

Now I’m busy with my herbal studies homework- all in all a pretty satisfactory Saturday🌿🌿✨✨

Whatever your religion, whatever your beliefs I think we all want the same thing. Peace on earth and happiness for all. A tall order in this day and age, but it’s what I’m sending out this Easter 💕
Holidays can be joyous and they can be hard - for a multitude of reasons- but there’s always beauty if we take the time to look - that’s the promise -
I find beauty, comfort and joy in plants. All sorts of fauna and flora - they drown out the “noise” and remind me that there is goodness beauty and love all around 💕
Wishing everyone a very peaceful, beautiful and love filled weekend 💕💕💕
Now, I’m off to clean my porch of winter detritus and buy more plants!!🪴

This is the food I love, so simple to make, incredibly delicious and super nutritious. And of course infused with plant magic - lots of herbs in this case that adorn the fish. 🌿

I love cooking in early Spring- everything tastes lighter, fresher and full of delicious possibilities 🌿🌿💚💚

“A flower blossoms for its own joy” said Oscar Wilde- which means my home is full of joy as I couldn’t restrain myself at the flower market 🌸

I think that saying is true - a home without flowers is sad. Even a single bloom in a bud jar can transform the space and the energy in a room.

Our daffodils haven’t bloomed yet but I’ve got a couple of brave crocuses that have opened up to the cold wind! Until Spring has really sprung here I’ll just keep filling the house with “joy!”

How about you? Do you need flowers on almost every surface?? I think for many of you who I follow the answer is a resounding yes! Flowers make a home - agreed??

My husband, my daughters all together!

This is how I want to live -
Close to the earth and close to each other - even if most of the time it’s in our hearts instead of physically!

This is where the real magic lives ✨✨

If September isn’t the most enchanting month I don’t know what is. There’s a cool (ish) breeze, whitecaps on the river, and nature is taking over. A slight turning of the leaves 🍁 and the light is different.

It lifts the spirits and promises all sorts of lovely things like apple cake, lots of tea and cozy blankets- I’m all in!

I’m forging ahead with the Autumn garden - 🪏 the snap pea seedlings are looking very adorable as are the kale and beet crop - fingers crossed they don’t all get eaten by rabbits 🐇

Happy Tuesday snippets :

Meet my French oven - blue, beautiful and always ready for a little culinary magic! It has a personality- and as far as I can tell it’s got 2 temperature settings -scorch and tepid!!! Somehow everything comes out perfectly 🤩

The sink! Yes a functional spot but such a fun one. The perfect place to transform the mundane into magical ✨

The bookcase - it tells visitors who you are! I like to think of books wrapped up in the bookcase as treasures of the home. Reading after all is one of the greatest pleasures 📕📗📘📙📖📚

Malcolm mesmerized by the River - or on the look out for ducks 🦆

The River - it never fails to calm the soul 🙏✨

We’re so fortunate to have a bustling farmers market every weekend throughout the year - rain or shine. These farmers are so committed, it’s either blazing hot or frigidly cold but they’re always there! There’s something very special about chatting with the people who grow and harvest your food. They get to know what you like and occasionally put a lovely little something aside especially for you 🌿💚

As you know I try hard everyday to find enchantment and beauty no matter what is going on or where I am - but on a day like today it’s not so very hard!!!
