Sidewalk Construction Alert! Starting Tuesday August 24th our entrance at 22 W 13th street will not be accessible. Enter the office at 37 W 12th St. between 5th and 6th avenue. The construction will go on for approximately 1 week.

Dr. Art Jung, an optometrist and partner at Metropolitan Vision near Union Square, stopped seeing patients in person over a week ago. He’s still paying his employees full-time salaries. “We care for our staff workers and we’re trying to do the best we can. That’s why we still have everyone still on,” he said. “We’re working from home but that’s still not bringing in the overhead that we need."
“Everyone is going to lose in this battle,” he said. “Is this going to be the new norm for a few months? Yes. And we haven’t even seen the worst of it, so we don’t know what’s going to happe."
But Jung said his worries are minuscule compared to what doctors on the COVID-19 frontlines face daily. He recently shipped more than 400 surplus surgical masks to a hospital in Chicago, after a physician friend told him they were in dire need.

We thank all the Doctors, nurses, and healthcare workers at the front line of this war. We thank the postal workers, truck drivers, food services industry, and supermarket employees. Will will survive because of you! COVID-19 you will not beat us down. We are resilient.

We will be temporarily closing our office as of Monday, March 16, 8pm.
Like all businesses in NYC and around the country, we have to take a stand against the spread of COVID-19. We have to protect those at risk. Please everyone be healthy and we will get through this. Our staff will be standing by to monitor phone call and emails. We will notify the community once we reopen the practice.

We have been tracking developments related to COVID-19 and following the relevant federal, state and local guidance. We truly appreciate your continued support during this difficult time. Bullseye! 9 year old Alexis came in for her custom Ortho K retainer today. It is a gentle overnight shaping of the cornea that corrects your vision so you are free from glasses and contact lenses during the day. When done correctly it can slow down the progression of myopia by more than 60%.
