Gilberto Alvarez, MD

A rare combination of dermatologist and internist, Dr. Alvarez treats adults and pediatric patients. Dr. Alvarez graduated Magna Cum Laude and is a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He holds faculty appointments at both NYU and Mount Sinai Hospitals where he teaches the dermatology residents to diagnose and manage skin conditions. He has authored several articles which have been published in dermatology peer-reviewed journals, and has done extensive research into psoriasis and metabolic syndrome, rosacea, and cutaneous t-cell lymphomas. Dr. Alvarez specializes in the treatment of skin conditions such as psoriasis, eczema, contact dermatitis, urticaria and itching. He performs procedures for removal of cysts and warts such as ge***al warts,verrucas and plantar warts. Dr. Alvarez is passionate about languages and travel, and is fluent in English, Spanish and Portuguese. He has worked on multiple community service projects which deliver healthcare to underserved populations, especially elderly patients.
