Embrace your inner world—and stop fighting yourself! The magical practice of acceptance allows us to make peace with our sometimes tumultuous emotions. This does not make us complacent—it allows us to take stock of what’s really happening within, treat ourselves with kindness and enact gentle, positive change.

We will look at specific meditative techniques that help us build this self-acceptance and create an honest, authentic relationship with our own mind so we can live the life we really want.

Happy Ney Wear! 🥳

That’s not a typo. Years ago, we received a decorative banner for our New Year’s party with the ‘w’ and ‘y’ switched. After the initial disappointment, we realized it was a blessing—a perennial reminder to shed the need to be perfect. We have kept it ever since.

In this special evening, we will craft intentions for the year ahead. Oftentimes, our goals can be rigid and inflexible, but intentions can speak to our heart and respect the fact that we are in a process of change and evolution.

We will also have time to let go of judgmental expectations and forgive the past year’s mistakes. This will allow us to start the new year feeling fresh and inspired.

If you’d like, please bring a vegetarian snack or dessert to share and wear your festive best.

Celebrate the only Ney Wear party in New York!

All are welcome!

Our world is a reflection of our mind. This truth offers both radical responsibility and inner freedom. As we purify our mind, the world we experience improves and ultimately transforms into a pure land free from suffering.

Vajrasattva purification is a powerful four-step practice for releasing negative karma—the imprints of past actions that keep us stuck in painful habits and obstruct our wishes, making us confused and unhappy.

By relying on Buddha Vajrasattva, we can release these burdens. Our mind will become clear and peaceful—and the world we experience will transform.

Everyone is welcome!

The holidays can be emotionally tumultuous. Our minds may feel like a ping-pong ball, bouncing between euphoria and disappointment, joy and grief, annoyance and cheer.

In this workshop, we will explore how Buddha’s teachings on compassion and cherishing others can create a steady, peaceful mind. Through these teachings, along with meditations and a Q&A with teachers, we will make a game plan for deeply enjoying the holiday season while benefitting others. Let’s get our minds sparkly and refreshed for the festivities!

What a Paint Night!!!

Last night we learned about the 8 auspicious symbols and taught us how to to paint them like the pros do 👨‍🎨👩‍🎨🧑‍🎨 (and how to keep a happy mind even if our painting didn’t go as planned 🫠)

Thank you to all our artists, Kadam Kyle, Grady Barker and our volunteers for the fun night!

Paint Night! The Eight Auspicious Symbols

FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 14

Time: 7 pm - 9 pm
Teacher: Grady Barker and Kadam Kyle
Cost: Free for members, $20 for non-members

For this year’s annual paint night, we will be painting the Eight Auspicious Symbols—an umbrella, fish, vase, lotus, conch, knot of eternity, victory banner, and Dharma Wheel.

These are traditional Buddhist symbols which depict our journey along the path to Enlightenment. The umbrella, for example, represents the Buddhist community and how our communal practice protects our mind. The fish represents the importance of harmony with others.

We will begin with a short talk explaining the symbols after which our experienced instructor will share essential painting skills. After that, you will have time to choose one or more symbols to paint yourself!

All painting supplies are included in the admission price. Registration is limited—please sign up early to guarantee a slot.
