Joe Torre Safe At Home Foundation

Joe Torre Safe At Home Foundation Founded by Ali & Joe Torre in 2002 to end the cycle of domestic violence and abuse through education. These rooms are staffed by a master’s-level therapist.

By providing resources and support, our young people are able to cope with their trauma and find hope, healing, and empowerment for their futures. Our model is unique because it provides both clinical intervention and prevention services. At our school locations, we establish a safe room – known as Margaret’s Place, named after Joe Torre’s mother. In this setting, we:

-Have group and individual c

ounseling for young people impacted by violence and abuse.
-Hold workshops for teachers to build a safer school environment.
-Hold workshops for parents to make homes and communities stronger.
-Raise awareness on how to prevent violence.
-Empower young people to become advocates and leaders.

Last night at Busch Stadium, the St. Louis partnered with Safe At Home, spotlighting our mission to end the cycle of domestic violence and abuse through education.

and his daughter Andrea joined the Cardinals for a special pre-game ceremony alongside our incredible partners at , who connected with fans and shared resources, including Safe At Home baseball cards and bookmarks.

The night was filled with meaningful moments: Joe reunited with Aggie, a longtime stadium staffer who’s been working there since his playing days. He also joined both the TV and radio broadcast booths, sharing stories from his career and talking about why prevention and education matter so much, especially for young people.

Joe’s time with the Cardinals holds a lasting legacy. He played for the team from 1969 to 1974, earning National League MVP in 1971. He later returned as manager from 1990 to 1995, and was inducted into the Cardinals Hall of Fame in 2014.

Swipe through for highlights from the evening. Thank you Cardinals for helping us make the ballpark a space where everyone feels safe, supported, and respected.

Joe Torre, together with his wife Ali, started Safe At Home in 2002 to end the cycle of domestic violence and abuse through education — to create a world where every young person feels, safe, supported, and empowered.

Our groundbreaking Margaret’s Place model was named in honor of Joe’s mother and creates safe space in schools offering both trauma informed intervention and prevention services. Staffed by a masters-level counselor, we teach every child about respect, how to care for themselves and each other, and how to support friends in need, so that everyone feels safer and braver in , at home, and wherever they go. 💛

Earlier this school year at John Adams Middle School (JAMS) in Los Angeles, students gathered for a special Therapeutic Recreation session: Grief 101, featuring our partners at Support Center. 💛

Therapeutic Recreation is one way we offer students ways to heal, connect, and express themselves through hands-on activities and supportive conversations.

Led by the team from Our House, this workshop helped students explore what grief is, how it shows up, and how we can care for ourselves and others through it.
