30-year-old "Jason*" came to us because he was "concerned about my bite and how my teeth are hitting each other."
While Jason had orthodontic treatment as a kid, his teeth shifted after his dog ate his retainer – something we hear about more than you think!
Jason presented with:
- A Class III skeletal and dental malocclusion (the lower jaw is more prominent than the upper jaw)
- An anterior open bite malocclusion (meaning the top teeth do not overlap the bottom teeth)
- Spacing present in the dentition
- Rotated teeth present in the dentition
After presenting several treatment options, Jason chose to pursue removable orthodontic appliance therapy utilizing Invisalign® for the discreet appearance.
Aligners and orthodontic elastics were utilized to level and align both arches, close residual spacing, establish ideal overbite and overjet, and establish a Class I occlusion.
Focused on minimizing his treatment time, Jason was very diligent about wearing his aligners and elastics. As a result of his excellent compliance, his treatment was completed in less than a year!
Jason is maintaining his results with a bonded retainer on the bottom and a removable Essix retainer for the top. He is keeping his removable retainer far away from dogs to retain his results for years to come!
