Last spring we gave away 2 Airpods Max headphones as part of the M&M Guessing Contest for our 7 & Up Awareness Campaign!

Winners Zoe and Olivia both guessed 3,200 – just 4 M&Ms away from the correct amount of 3,196!

We’d like to thank Zoe, Olivia, Elle, and everyone else who participated in the contest for helping us spread the word that American Association of Orthodontists recommends that children have their first orthodontic screening at age 7!

This is not to rush the start of treatment but to screen for any jaw or alignment issues as early as possible, track your child’s unique skeletal growth, and predict what age would be ideal for the child to start treatment if they need it.

Early identification =

🟢More focused, efficient, and effective treatments
🟢Reduced/ eliminated need for extractions
🟢Optimal results

If your child is age 7 or older we’d love to see them for an orthodontic screening!

Even though “Shannon*” had “permanent” retainers from childhood treatment, at 33 she came to us with complaints of a “runaway tooth and shifting teeth.”

Like many adults we see, Shannon’s bonded wire retainers, placed by her childhood orthodontist, had distorted and were no longer retaining her adolescent treatment results. This can happen when patients eat foods that damage the retainers or simply because the wires flex over time.

To address Shannon’s flared lower right canine and open bite, we first started treatment with Invisalign® on the top row of teeth and braces on the bottom. After 8 months, braces were removed and we continued with full Invisalign® for the remaining year of treatment.

Through orthodontic therapy, Shannon’s lateral open bite, mandibular recession, and excessive lower incisor proclination were resolved.

To retain her results long-term, Shannon is using a clear removable Essix retainer for her top row of teeth. The bottom row is being retained by a braided, rectangular, stainless steel retainer appliance which allows for more control and stability for years to come! 🙌

July is Cleft & Craniofacial Awareness Month – dedicated to increasing public understanding and support for individuals with craniofacial conditions.

These conditions involve differences in the structure, function, and appearance of the head and face, often present from birth. Awareness efforts focus on promoting early diagnosis, access to specialized medical care, and social inclusion for those impacted.

Dr. Bronsky has been proudly working with the NextGenFace Inc Cleft and Craniofacial team which supports families and patients with a variety of craniofacial conditions. Learn more: https://bronskyorthodontics.com/about-us/in-the-community

29-year-old med school resident "Brooke*" came to us hoping to finally fix her open bite.

Even though Brooke had braces as a child, her previous orthodontist was unable to close her bite. As an adult, she started wearing a nightguard to alleviate her TMJ symptoms, which made her bite worse. By the time she arrived at our office, she had both functional and aesthetic concerns.

We presented Brooke with three options to treat her Class II/ anterior open bite skeletal and dental malocclusion:

1. Orthodontics combined with orthognathic (jaw) surgery
2. Comprehensive orthodontic therapy utilizing braces and/or Invisalign®
3. Stability with retainers.

Brooke chose the treatment plan that allowed her to discreetly correct her bite without taking time off of her busy med school schedule: Option #2.

Utilizing Invisalign® clear aligner therapy, we broadened the maxillary and mandibular arches within the confines of the periodontium to close the anterior open bite. Intermaxillary elastics (rubber bands) were also utilized to mitigate crossbite tendencies and aid in bite closure.

Brooke finished treatment right on time in under 2 years! She is maintaining her results with a bonded retainer on the bottom and a removable Essix clear shell retainer for her top row of teeth.

Another Dental Business Study Club meeting for the books!

Thank you to all of our esteemed friends and colleagues who came out to discuss our topic: “The Incredible Power of Strategic Planning” prepared by Roger P. Levin, DDS of the Levin Group.

It was deeply insightful to hear different perspectives from practitioners at all stages of their careers and learn from each other’s wins and lessons.

The evening also served as the perfect opportunity to celebrate Dr. Michele Equinda’s birthday! 🥳🎂🎈

Thank you to The Harmonie Club for not only providing the ideal setting for our discussion and delicious dinner, but also helping us surprise Dr. Equinda with a lovely, house-made cake.

It’s a joy to have so many thoughtful, talented, and business-savvy dental professionals that we are lucky enough to call our friends. Looking forward to seeing everyone again in less than 2 months at our Summer Kick-Off Party!

7 & Up is NOT about soda!🚫🥤 We are raising awareness of the AAO recommendation that kids have their first orthodontic screening exam at age 7.

This is not to rush the start of treatment. We use these screenings to detect if there are any jaw or alignment issues as early as possible, track your child’s unique skeletal growth, and predict what age would be ideal for the child to start treatment if they need it.

Early identification =
🟢More focused, efficient, and effective treatments
🟢Reduced/ eliminated need for extractions
🟢Optimal results!

Don’t wait until you notice orthodontic issues or until your child loses all their primary (baby) teeth. Give us a call after their 7th birthday to schedule your child’s first orthodontic screening today!
