Imposter Calls: Scammers may pose as Medicare and request personal information like your Social Security or Medicare number—this is a scam. Medicare will never call unsolicited to ask for such details.

Fake "New Card" Offers: Calls or messages offering a “new Medicare card” with a processing fee? That’s fraud. Legitimate cards are sent via mail—free of charge.

Phony Equipment Offers: Be cautious of offers for “free” medical equipment like braces or wheelchairs. These often result in fraudulently billed claims with no real delivery.
