The Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York is inviting 4th-year U.S. medical students interested in a career in orthopaedic surgery to apply to a two-year funded position as a research fellow starting July 1, 2025 to May 30, 2027.
The research fellow will work in close conjunction with Chairman, Dr. Jack Choueka, Vice-Chairman and Residency Program Director, Dr. Afshin Razi, and other Orthopaedic faculty at Maimonides Medical Center.
The fellow will be responsible for managing multiple IRB projects encompassing clinical, biomechanical, and imaging-based studies. A basic understanding of statistical analysis is expected, and the department will provide the necessary training for the position.
The fellow will have the opportunity to attend daily educational conferences with the orthopaedic surgery residents, cadaver labs, and continue to expand their clinical acumen by shadowing and observing attendings and residents within the clinical setting.
Our previous research fellows have successfully matched into an orthopaedic surgery residency program.
