With fall weather officially here, now is the time to switch up your skincare routine for the colder temps. The key steps for me this time of year are using thick, creamy moisturizers to face and body, gentle cleansers and decreasing the use of anti-aging retinoids to every other night. I keep a really simple skin care routine and almost everything can be found at your local drugstore. My AM steps are gentle cleanser, a Vitamin C antioxidant serum then moisturizer with SPF 50. My PM steps are gentle cleanser, Retin A then moisturizer. Keep in mind that everyone’s skin is different so use what you love and feel works for you.

1)Soap: I use sensitive skin body wash. Take shorter showers in colder weather so as to not strip the skin of moisture. For the face, I’m obsessed with micellar gel wash or micellar water, foaming cleanser and ultra gentle facial cleanser. I use a gentle scrub (like ) a few times a week (be careful with sensitive skin).

2)Moisturizer: I use a thick moisturizer in a jar like moisturizing cream right after showering all over my body. Clinical Care and Lipikar are other favorites. For face, I use healthy defense SPF50 or Prevage City Smart SPF 50 in the morning and love cream hydroboost or Waterboost for nighttime over Retin A.

3)Eyes and lips: I sleep with either or ointment on my eyelids to prevent dry skin. Aquaphor and Vasoline are also fab for the lips at night and they prevent chapped, cracked lips year round. I also use Retin A for anti-aging to my entire face (every other night only in winter).

4)Antioxidants: I use Phloretin under sunscreen every morning. If you are not acne prone, CE Ferrulic is perfect.

5)Hair: is my fave leave in conditioner.

Here are my summer skincare and sunscreen picks! I love sharing my routine with you so that you can see which products are my go-tos...I splurge on a prescription Retin-A cream for nighttime and an antioxidant serum in the morning. Almost everything else (including most sunscreens) can be found at your local drugstore so beautiful, healthy skin does not have to cost a fortune. I have sensitive yet acne prone skin so all of my recs are oil-free and should not cause breakouts. Keep in mind that everyone’s skin is different so use what you love and feel works for you.

1)Soap: I use sensitive skin body wash. For the face, I’m obsessed with micellar gel wash and ultra gentle facial cleanser. I use a gentle scrub (like ) a few times a week.

2)Moisturizer: I use a thick moisturizer like moisturizing cream right after showering all over my body even in the summer. For face, I use healthy defense SPF50 or Prevage City Smart (splurge worthy) in the morning and love hydroboost or water boost for nighttime.

3)Eyes and lips: I sleep with either ointment, ceramide capsules on eyelids. Aquaphor is fab for the lips at night and prevents chapped, cracked lips year round. I also use Retin A for anti-aging to my entire face (be careful in the sun).

4)Antioxidants: I use Phloretin under sunscreen every morning. If you are not acne prone, CE Ferrulic is perfect. I’ve also been using Discoloration Defense to help with brown spots.

5)Sunscreen: The higher the better and I use the same sunscreens for face and body. My faves are Melt-in Body Milk SPF 60 and Ultra Sheer Dry Touch SPF 85. For lips, SPF 41 balm and brush-on SPF 50 is perfect over makeup.

6)Hair: I love to leave on my color treated locks.

Happy Mother’s Day! Being a mom is so insanely hard...and I’ll tell you there are many days when I think it’s the job I do the least well and question so many of the parenting decisions I make. But it’s also my most important and rewarding job...to raise 2 boys and help turn them into exceptional men who respect and value hard work and treat all people with kindness and respect. Today and every day, I celebrate all the moms who have paved the way for my success and who continue to inspire me, especially my own amazing mother who led with the most beautiful examples, is an absolute force of nature, and whom I would be nothing without!

“The most important day is the day you decide you’re good enough for you. It’s the day you set yourself free.”

Happy Saturday loves. I’m at our beach house this weekend, taking some much needed time off, with my most favorite people in the world. I hope you all are able to take time to take care of yourselves this weekend and honor who you are and what you need.

With summer right around the corner, I loved sharing my tips on preventing and treating breakouts from working out with the fabulous for . Most importantly, be sure to wash off all makeup before exercising, and then rinse both face and body immediately afterwards as sweat can cause major acne flares. Also, don’t forget to change out of those sweaty clothes ASAP. My favorite body wash for acne is Panoxyl 10% benzoyl peroxide wash and I love Waterboost Micellar wipes to clean my face both pre and post workout.

Got skin??? May is Skin Cancer Awareness Month, and as with most cancers, prevention and early detection are key. As the weather warms and we start wearing less clothes, it’s the perfect time to get your yearly skin exam from a board-certified dermatologist (Yes, you need to get naked for your skin check. No, I will not remember what you look like without clothes).

The statistics are staggering...1 in 5 people gets a skin cancer in their lifetime and 1 person dies of melanoma every hour. Skin cancers are largely preventable simply by avoiding tanning or burning. I promise, ending up with disfiguring scars or potentially losing your life is just not worth “a healthy tan”. Plus, who wants wrinkles and sun spots?

Lastly, do not just trust your skin to anyone (this goes for medical and cosmetic concerns). A board-certified dermatologist spends 8 extra years training after college, with 3 of those years dedicated solely to dermatology, so that we can take the best possible care of your skin. ❤️

Stay tuned for upcoming posts on my favorite sunscreens to stock up on and best ways to protect your skin this summer.

What an absolute dream come true! When and invited me to be a part of an YouTube video about acne, I let out a little scream of excitement and of course jumped at the opportunity. About 3 weeks ago, we had so much fun shooting “100 Years of Acne Care”. Taking a look through the decades at popular acne treatments, I’m representing comedone extractions and cyst injections (2 of my favorite procedures for treating acne) which became popularized in the 2000s. The Allure team did a phenomenal job and the link to the full video is in my instagram profile. 💉💉💉

“The dream is free. The hustle is sold separately.”

And the rent on that hustle is due every day (a lesson I learned well from my parents)❤️. Remember that a dream without the hard work won’t take you very far, but putting them both together makes you completely unstoppable. Nobody ever said it was going to be easy or happen overnight. Success is not just about getting what you want...it’s also about learning from your failures and not letting the fear of failure hold you back. The only person who needs to be proud of you is YOU, so dream big and never give up.

Who put the idea into your mind that you can’t do something? That you aren’t good enough or that you aren’t worthy of living your dreams? Quiet that voice that continues to cause doubt or worry. It doesn’t exist and is made up by your mind to stop you from doing the things you are meant to do and being the person you are meant to be. I do not believe in “I can’t”...I believe in working hard enough, practicing long enough and pouring your whole heart into something until you are able to finally say “I did it”. And then, you keep working some more. ❤️❤️❤️
