Dr. Betzy Alcántara of the Dominican Republic just completed her ECF Fellowship under our Scientific Board Member and Professor, Dr. Alberto Calle Vásquez! She trained at the Calle Ophthalmic & Orbital Oncology Center and stood out due to her dedication, interest in ocular oncology, and care of patients. The 37th Singapore-Malaysia Joint Ophthalmology Meeting was held in Singapore on 19 – 21 January 2024. The theme of the meeting was “Transforming Paradigms in Ophthalmology”. It was the first regional meeting after 2 years since the Covid-19 pandemic. It featured renowned speakers from the Asia-Pacific region and beyond. Dr. Jain’s lecture was well received and led to meaningful dialogue amongst the attending ophthalmologists, encompassed by individuals of varying levels of experience, specialties, and allied health backgrounds.
